Description I actually have a little story this time; so listen up. Back in January 4, 2010, Spore.com announced that there would be 14 brand new mech-style parts for the Creature Creator, provided as part of Patch 1.06. But here was the catch: This special give away is only available with a code that is specially marked on Dr. Pepper bottles (under the cap), or at participating Taco Bell resturaunts with any order of a large drink. Once the code is found it must be entered on the Dr. Pepper website. The offer is only open to residents of the USA (excluding Maine) and is Mac incompatible.

Yeah, I am not even too sure about that last sentence. I am certain that some people have already found at least a couple of loopholes by now. Why am I telling you old news stuff? Because I want to make sure that we are all on the same page.

Anyway, I had bought a Dr. Pepper that had one of the codes I needed, registered into their website, entered the code, and claimed my prize. . . or so I thought. Right to the last step, I was told to go to Sporepedia so I can finalize the transaction. When I got there, I was expecting a link or a button to press for the download; but guess what it gave me instead: "You need to redeem your Dr. Pepper code on the Dr. Pepper site in order to get Spore Robot Parts. Go here for more information."

. . .

I came back with another legit code, but I still got the same message. Since that did not work, I decided "Screw this!" and downloaded an unofficial version of the Patch from simprograms.com. And most of you know how that works: you got the parts but not the right to share them to Sporepedia.

So after going through all of that trouble, I have created yet one of my finest pieces of work. Enjoy the view, because you may not get to find it anywhere else.

That's awesome! I love the details! Can you download the robot parts from that site without being registered and all that?

Now if you are talking about registering on both Sporepedia and the Dr.Pepper site instead of the site I had downloaded the unofficial version from, then yes, you have a considerable amount of info to type down: name, email, address, etc.

No, you do not have to register on said site to go to the page. However, if you are some of the lucky people who can not only find an Original Dr.Pepper 20oz that has a code but also download the parts from Sporepedia after submitting said code from the Dr.Pepper site (plus not having to worry about the looping #%&@ like what I got), then you are probably better off doing that if you want to Share to Sporepedia.
