I still suck at drawing rain, but hey I did my best and despite my poor skill I'm still satisfied at how this turned out. I don't know the story behind this really, I'll just leave the head canon behind this to your imagination (though maybe this pick doesn't need a story at all).Related content

I love this picture. New heights of cuteness have been reached. I am a big fan of the ponies being drawn with unshorn fetlocks, they look much better that way. The huge wings are good too, much more aerodynamic. Since deer are hooved, they'd certainly be intelligent in the pony world and they would probably become great friends.

This takes place after Bambi's mother is killed.
After running for what seemed like an eternity, Bambi slid to a halt. He collapsed to the ground and began to cry like he never had before. Tears streamed down his face like a river and he sobbed so hard it hurt to breath. His thoughts were racing around in his mind, trying to piece together what had happened earlier that day. One moment he was playing in the field with his mother, the next his mother shouted for him to run, and the next was him trying to wake her lifeless body. His mind slowed down enough to realize it was raining. His sobbing replaced by the the pitter patter of water Bambi buried his face into his hooves and wished he was dead so he could see his mother again. Then, within the sound of rain, was the sound of quiet whooshing. Then something landed behind him, and the sound was replaced by hoof-steps. Bambi stood up, turned and found himself facing a yellow pony with a pink mane. Her face had the look of concern and well being, while her cyan eyes kindly looked him over. It was then that Bambi noticed her wings and became puzzled. "A winged pony?" he thought "That's impossible!". The pony then look at Bambi and gave him a warm smile. "Hello little one." she said in a quiet voice "Why are you crying?" Bambi sniffed and said "My mother was killed by those.....things with arms and legs that walk on two feet." The pony sighed sadly and nodded sympathetically.βI have never experienced what your going through nowβ. she said βBut I can only imagine what it must be like.β Bambi nodded and dropped his head, squeezing his eyes at the thought of his mothers body. He suddenly realized that the rain stopped and opened his eyes. It hadn't stopped but the pony was now using one of her wings to keep him dry. βCome with meβ she said βI have a hut not too far from hereβ. She addedβYou'll be warmer but, most importantly, safe.β At that moment, Bambi nudged as close as he could to her, and happy tears silently streamed down his face. The pony looked back at him with a smile and had a face that looked like she was caring for one of her own. βMy name is Fluttershyβ she said βWhat's your name?β βBambiβ he replied. The duo then started walking together for the hut. A place of warmth, safety, friendship, and most importantly unconditional love.
Well that's what I think happened anyway

Nice. Very nice. I love the colors and shading, as well as how you can actually see the emotion here. Not an easy thing to do, especially with animal characters.

Not a lot of artist can portray a character's personality in a drawing, and even less can do it with characters from T.V. and movies.
You, portray both characters so perfectly.
I can actually see her doing something like this for an animal.
