Description
Here I present the United Nations Cosmo Force, Earth Defence Fleet's Space Battleship Arizona, lead ship of her class. The design is heavily based on the First generation space battleship of the Andromeda class though changes were made during the design process to improve it. The class use the standardized 1st generation capital ship hull first introduced on the Andromeda class and used in subsequent classes like the Borodino class Main line Battleships or Lexington class Space Battle Carriers. The aft section is virtually the same, only differences are the slightly narrower hull, the Bridge superstructure reworked somewhat and an funnel was added housing Vertical Launch Missile tubes. Central section unchanged but the forward section was redesigned to house a single Wave Motion Cannon chamber of curvy design and a parallel hull section housing most of the sensory equipment.Similar to the Andromda class the Arizona is well armed and armoured though feature less armament their combat capabilities are very similar. While the Andromda was designed in mind to bring most of her weapons in a broadside combat to the enemy in close to medium range, Arizona is more of a medium to long range combatant with more shock cannons of superior arcs in all directions.
Torpedo and missile weaponry are distributed differently, Arizona have 18 torpedo tubes in 6 groups of 3 launchers and 8 missile tubes in her funnel capable of heavy frontal assault.
AA armament was enlarged introducing the 12,7cm heavy rapid fire AA guns which have longer range then the 40mm Pulse lasers but could not fire as fast as those.
The main weapon of the ship is of course the single Wave Motion Cannon of the dispersion type, capable of two kind of firing modes:
- Firing a coherent beam of Wave Motion Energy able to devastate smaller fleets in one shoot or seriously damage if not destroy heavily armoured space stations
- Firing a a single beam which separates into multiple smaller beams before reaching the target something like the AA shells of the WW2 Yamato's 46cm cannons with each smaller beam is as strong as a shot from a shock cannon. This firing mode ideal to damage or destroy large amounts of loosely positioned enemy ships.
To generate enough energy for the weapons systems as well as for the Wave Motion Cannon and Wave Motion Engine, the ship's main power generator unit is the same that was used on the Andromeda but without the second power generation unit. Auxiliary energy is provided by the four Fusion Reactors each one mounted in the 4 secondary engine gondolas. The ship have 4 engine systems:
Main Wave Motion engine providing the primary source for sub light and warp speeds
4x Secondary engines in gondolas to provide extra boost or low speed travel
4 Auxiliary engines in the lower forward hull section.
Defence is provided by the thick 46cm Armour plates designed to withstand Shock Cannon energy shots, but the ship also provided with two Wave Motion shield generators which are improved and slightly larger then those used on the Andromeda class.
The ship class carry a large component of starfighters ranging from Space Superiority Interceptors like the Cosmo Zero to standard multi role starfighters of the Cosmo Tiger type and heavier strike craft of the Cosmo Rhino type. Though the size of the hull is somewhat less beamier the carried spacecraft was reduced by a minimal amount
Apart from strike craft the ships could carry Shuttles for goods and personal transport, Reconnaissance and Exploration boats to conduct various missions from search and rescue, scouting, research and exploration.

What does 50,8 translate into?
Did you mean to type 50.8?

0,508m = 50,8cm = 508mm
I'm Hungarian we use dots for 1000 separators and comma for decimal separators

Nice. Always considered the Arizona a hybrid of the yamato and Andromeda.

Good, yet does not match Izubuchi's original design

Like?
I know I've added more AA guns and minor hull elements, but the hull is 98% the same

The stern. It's just a replica of Andromeda. The original stern had both smaller sub-engines and a ring-like structure built in. Look at these images and you'll find what i'm talking about

Well there are many different Arizona models. I did took some elements from some of it, and I've seen around 3-4 different versions so far.

And none of the Arizona models I've seen have the kind of stern depicted here. The engines shouldn't have intakes and are about half the length. Plus other features i don't think i could describe very well

They shouldn't??? All post Yamato SBB's had Tachyon intakes
I've seen many models even screenshots of the the original though mostly the nose is visible and all have the large intakes.

I'm talking about the sub engines. While difficult to see from this angle, you can tell from looking at this image visions.comet-empire.com/Midni…

Those are not intakes as neither Andromeda, Borodino or Lexington classes had those for the secondary engines, those are in my opinion the outer cooling rings of the secondary engine/power generators

Whoops. Poor observation on my part. But my point still stands. There are more differences between Arizona and Andromeda than portrayed here. Those cooling rings for example, are smaller to non-existent on the original design

I would imagine this ought to be Daisuke Shima/Mark Venture's own command should he attain the rank of Captain in the United Nations Cosmo Navy/Earth Defense Force.
"Starship Log, August 13th 2202 A.D.
Log Entry by Commanding Officer Mark Venture/Daisuke Shima
Space Battleship Arizona on orbital approach to Libra Gliese IV (Gliese 581 d) in connection with project Gethsemane. We are continuing our search for a lifeless planet, to satisfy the requirements of a test site for the Gethsemane experiment. So far, no success."
