Was late to this one. But I was absolutely determined to get it done. Theme was non-Greek mythological creature. Went with manticore.Feel like there should be a background or something, but it's too late and I'm tired of working on it. I don't remember the last time I'd drawn an animal, so finding some good reference of lions was integral to the creation of this.
I'm pretty pleased with it, though I strayed a bit from what I had originally hoped it would look like in the end.

Groovy stuff. Does seem like the reference you use made for a good looking final product. Personally, I'm horrible at non-humanoid bodies, but it looks like this turned out pretty good.
A pretty placid looking manticore. My only complaint though would be that the horns look a bit dissimilar. The one in the foreground looks a little smaller than the one in the back.
But I do like how, while still being accurate lion paws, the forepaws kinda look similar to human hands in the context of the vicinity to its face.
