Blurry and huge, but you've got a nice start. If you want the smokes and mugs the main focus, make them the main focus with a tighter crop. Also, the tones are quite nice, but they could be so much more with a little tweaking. I applaud you for filing this under photojournalism. It's not quite "art photography" in it's truest sense, but it very well could be with some work. Keep at it.

i'm thinking i may need to go back through these photos and shrink them down a bit. the blur is partially the camera's fault, it has no easy to distinguish way to focus it (cross hairs, etc.). i may go back and crop it as well, i'm just now sure what points i should crop it to.
