Description Edit: If this doesnt help you then don't pin me down for it! I dont think im the best at drawing hands but this is tips meant for people who have a lot of trouble with hands and this is just showing them ways they can help improve! I really can NOT believe the bullshit I'm recieving for some of this! D| Just cause it doesnt help you it doesnt mean others aren't learning from this.
I dont think i'll be making anything else like this now.
i'll deal with it though. THanks for all your 'thanks' guys -3-
/edit

A bit wordy XD But still I hope its helpful to those who struggle with hands. I myself struggle to draw hands most of the time too but these are just some basic tips to improving problems you may be having when it comes to hands.

I might do some more. If theres anything else you have a hard time with then I guess tell me >__O

Thanks, this is really useful. I love how you are telling people what to go about doing to draw hands without spoon feeding them. As a person who finds hands difficult myself, i can say this really helps. Thank you.

so. . . what if you're double jointed and can bend your fingers back at the first joint and make the tip move without touching it?

>.> there's no such thing as being double jointed. It's not physically possible to have two joints on a freaking finger.

Sorry, but I hate hearing people say that, no offense meant. There may be no such thing as double jointedness, but there are people who have very FLEXIBLE joints...yeah. Just not two joints on one finger. That'd be kinda creepy anyway... >.O

Anywho, I love this "tutorial" regardless! ^_^ You should do feet next or something. Feet, Hands, Hair and faces are the hardest to draw..

Double jointed is just a phrase. Just like shitting a storm. You can't really shit a storm.

Thanks man, this'll be helpful later on. Funnily enough, when I was a kid, I replaced hands with a stand-in representation as circular blobs. Later on when I decided to give it a proper go, I realized the blob for the hand could be used as a palm! A little-study-of-my-own-hand later and I had a reasonable hand!

I can get away with the unrealistic hands (like those without wrists) as I rarely draw proper humans, mainly an alien species I made up (so what if they have no wrists?! )

an easy place to look for a simple tutorial is howtodrawmanga.com. it doesn't go in depth alot, but it can help with the basics, then follow up with references and/or tips =3

Awesome! Thanks, Az! This is super helpful, next time I'll make sure I include all that's listed here. Also, I've noticed that I sometimes have minor or major difficulty finding where to position eyes, nose, mouth, hair (i.e, where it starts xD) etc. on a head. So if you are indeed making more tutorials, that would be quite helpful. : D

Nice guidelines on hands. I had the basic form down before, but they still didn't look right. I drew a few rough hands just now and I notice that in my previous attempts the palm was too short. Couldn't put my finger on that detail before. An awesome guideline all-in-all, thanks!
