Description
Few days ago, I tested Windows 8.1, and although it is a big improvement as for performance, I felt that the user interface had not been developed it with the same dedication and effor and we can seen this in the windows explorer. So this concept initially just try to solve the visual aspect, with all those design trick that allow us find our files, in the minor time and with the minor visual effort.

A beautiful concept in my opinion, but will you experiment this with the new Fluent Design? It would be spectacular!

Beautiful! Personally I am a minimalist and like minimalism wherever possible, but the problem that I have with simplifying navigation is that it closes off access to the beautifulness of Windows. Windows isn't open source, but it's still pretty open compared to OSX, and with this interface I feel like a lot of the openess of Windows would be locked off. Still, the ui and concept is beautiful, and I applaud your work. .

Maybe I'm not understanding you completely, but if you mean "simplifying navigation" with delete the address bar, this is no true at all.
The address bar (just look the first elements below the tabs) always was considered in my concept, although I admit that needs some visual improvements. The idea was simplify and merge the path file and the search box in just one element.
Thanks!

No, I wasn't talking about the address bar, that's beautiful and great. I was talking about the sidebar. In OS X for example the sidebar just includes a bunch of shortcuts to folders, unlike in windows, where other than shortcuts there are also links to the computer and c drive so you can see exactly where the common folders are and where all the system files are and everything. This concept would close off easy access to these folders and make it more like OS X. It's still nice, but it really lessens what makes windows special in some ways.

Jummm, totally agree! Β
But in some way the navigation in the sidebar is a too strict way to find our files.
At least for me, having to enter on each folder level and having to deal with the excessiveΒ indentation, makes although I know where I am, be really easy lose the focus in the path.
I prefer a transverse method that allow find our files beyond the folders, like a shorcuts ( tags & mentions )
Do you saw the changes in the concept?

I see...very nice . What I would prefer, if or when I make a file manager concept, are two sections: shortcuts and "places". "Places" would have cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc), any hard drives, any external storage devices. Shortcuts would have documents, pictures, videos, music, and downloads (the libraries + downloads) and these would be customizable. I think that this would offer a good balance between Windows awesomeness and a better user experience.

it would be even better, if in touch interface this sidebar would be hided, but u can swipe it out, and there would be nice animation like its sliding from behind to the side of the window. maybe its possible to do that also in mouse mode. coz im not using that sidebar all the time, and sometimes its better when its hided, so if it would be there only when i need it - that would be great.

In future versions of thisΒ concept, the sidebar will most protagonist. Dont worry!
Thanks!
