This reminds me of a parody I made of one of Shakespeare's more famous sonnets--about his mistress who is really very unappealing, and really is a humorous poem itself---anyways one of the lines I wrote goes: "If pimples be roses his face is a garden"............
But this piece is powerful, it speaks volumes.

Lol yeah, that was done after my piece, I saw it in ImaginaFX about a month after I painted mine. My first thought was :tehy ripped me off!" but of course, artists come up with the same ideas independently all the time.

Reminds me of when I had chicken pox: "The sores will, at first, look like dewdrops on rose petals". Ha! So poetic; so freaking painful. >.<
This is fantastic. It really gives you an uneasy feeling, but at the same time, it's beautiful, so you have to stop and stare. The way the flesh blends into the petals makes my skin crawl (but in a good way). c:

you certainly achieved your point of disturbing but pretty. the fact that the roses are embeded into her skin really freaks me out but the piece overall is lovely in skill and composition

This is just gorgeous... how the roses bloom from her skin is perfect. They remind me of some infection or rash. Maybe a pimple? XD That probably sounds stupid... either way, beautifully done.

This is one of the few rare instances where I think disturbing and pretty go hand and hand.
Strange as this sounds, it looks like you're 'transcending' in this portrait. Like you're just blossoming out of your own flesh about to become some higher more evolved form. Exquisite!

Wow. The combination of beauty and deprecation is really nicely done in this one. The contrast of the pink in the flowers with the pale greyish blue of the face is also really well done.

Woah! I love this idea, it's very creative. The roses remind me of pimples on the skin, but even with skin blemishes, someone can still be beautiful. I don't know, that's what I see. xD
