Description
My first big needle felted wool sculpture with wire skeleton. He is not as bendable as the other wool creatures, as I had not really worked out how to make the skeleton at that time. He can bend and change pose a bit though, he is just a bit stiff. He is about 70cm long from nose to tail and his wingspan is about 80cm. He was made sometime during 2006 and must have taken about 30-40hours.

How cute. Do you take commissions for this sort of thing?

If the pay is right, sure
But I usually only get to sell smaller ones than this.

How much do you generally charge for large and/or smaller sized dragons?

The big ones would probably never be possible to charge enough to make it worth making them for sale. Smaller ones maybe around 50 euros... They take a lot of time sadly, it would have been wonderful to be able to sell many. But well, you see the price.

What's the size of the smaller dragons, roughly?

Wow... My first bigger felt sculpture was a black dragon too But that was an epic fail D: sooo... I dont have it posted here... I used Black and red combination and it was about 30cm with the tail, so your dragon 70 cm... Omg, that is big!
Anyways very greatly done!
Me likei
By the way... Did u use the same grey fabric for the "horns" on its head too?

Nah, all the horns and talons are made of clay. Which reminds me, this dragon started out as black/red dragon as well! I made the whole set of talons in yellow and red but when the dragon was starting to get done I realized I wanted the talons grey... so I had to rip upp the whole spine of him and make a new set of talons to change him into grey. Wery stupid indeed.
Anyway, thanks for commenting, too bad I donΒ΄t get to see that dragon of yours you should add it.

Hmm, clay? Like a ordinary childrens clay or like polymery clay?

well... I donΒ΄t know? It is some clay that you harden by heating in a regular household oven. I canΒ΄t find the english name for it (my excuse is that IΒ΄m from Sweden), but polymer clay must be it.

Yup, then its polymer when you have to bake it in the owen.

Yep, but thatΒ΄s with tail included. He looks a lot smaller irl actually. Gave me a shock when I mesured him, I thought he was smaller.
