...you do know it's not a normal handgun they use, right?
It's completely harmless, but the sound of the shot puts you in such a state of mind that your mind is "empty," thus allowing you to summon your Persona.

I know(Have Played through all the Shin Megami Tensei games). It just looks like it is a suicide attempt to those that have not played(Like Sable ).

Cuz, admittedly, I thought so at first, but even I knew that there was something odd with those guns when GLASS SHARDS FLEW FROM THE GUY'S HEAD...
I say that because I know people who've seen that many times and still think it's a real gun...
