Description
File Island is composed of different sections just like in digimon 01/02, but the city section is kinda new, there are 6 sections together, Forest, Desert, Ice (Snow) Stone (Mountain) and jungle. Here is an explanation of how International railways started out:The railroad started out as the File Island railroad after the digimon express 71519 came along and rid of all the rail pirates, the driver then found many more employees after finding more rolling stock, engines and places to work for them, it all started out as an actual "One Man Railroad" It's true, one man operating one locomotive and doing the work of many, but later found some others who could drive steam engines and then was able to increase efficiency greatly, finding more employees and repairing stations, railyards, signal boxes, management buildings, Water towers and coal tipples and more, the railway was already becoming a very important part of life for every digimon on the island, it all started out as an all-passenger service before adding freight onto their schedules.
The roster of locomotives is almost all-steam from different periods of time, but there is one F-7 diesel that does passenger duties but has to be near some oil refueling stations since diesel fuel was rare, rolling stock like passenger cars and wagons were of all sorts of types, old wild western ones, Annie and Clarabel-esque, Henrietta and more but mostly American, the whole railroad in general was getting better and better until they managed to build some new track off the island and then began connecting with the rest of the digital world, thus making them International Railways, finding new rolling stock, gaining newer destinations and buying out failing systems to create a massive system that would soon expand to Earth.
The Narrow Gauge railway is called The Jungle, Stone, Forest, Dino and Snow land traction company limited. It started out in the 1800's already having multiple competition with the many standard gauge railroads that used to inhabit the island. It's entire destination roster is The unnamed jungle village, the cottage from season 1 (Not it's real name) the mountain village, the two quarries (Standard/Narrow combo and Narrow) the ice cream factory, jungle temple, and the Ancient dino ruins. The most resent project is to connect with the most powerful city on the island, Cherry Creek, more on that later.
The Infinity Mountain cog railroad is like the Pike's Peak, Culdee Fell and Washington cog railroads all mixed into one big one, having many stops along the way that aren't shown (Then again, most of the other stations and track on the map is not seen since it would be hard to see)
It's been confirmed that there are multiple smaller railroads of different types, some small enough for a miniature railway, some that are like the steam monorails and others you would rarely expect.
Here's a list of all the stops on the map if you can't see them:
City area:
Cherry Creek, massive city that's the main power on the island with the most digimon on it along with semi-futuristic, comes with a massive school, trolley system, subways, monorails, Boatways, you name it, it's there, Has a dock for waterbound freight and passengers like Brendam, Has a massive station that's like Knapford or something larger, the place was having trading problems when most of the local railroads had shut down but when the F.I.R.R. came in, the problem had ceased to exist, Cherry Creek is now the most important stop on the railway and still is as it evolved into International railways.
Lemon Lake, Lakeside town for distributing fruits and having local attractions.
Carsdale, Used to be the town that had a terminal for a standard-gauge tramway, now is another stop on the new railroad, with all the trams and cars that served the old tramway still coming to the town.
Farquad, descent town with a railyard, nothing much.
Hinoshima, big town full of important digimon and is a important part in many of the stories.
International Railways Steamworks, Possibly the most important place for all railroads on the island, was already in operation even before the F.I.R.R. came to be. Houses two famous vehicles, a bunch of Cuban Baldwin 0-4-0ST+T engines and some sort of old gas-powered mobile crane. This massive facility is where all the steam locomotives and other steam rail equipment go when needing new parts or to be repaired despite the fact some other repair shops are around.
Toy Town: (Located upwards on the map) Well, if you saw season 1 of digimon,
Forest of Perplexity:
Forest Temple: Apparently is a safe haven for all forest-dwelling digimon when needed, like in Spirit tracks, it has railroad entrance.
Cottage: The exact one from 01/02.
Waddleton: Standard logging town that makes lots of wood-based products.
Spyrule: A town that resembles Hyrule in a lot of ways, has a castle, some old-timey buildings and a shop.
Beach:
Beach station: Nothing much but just a place for people to go to the nearby resort and check into a hotel, get to the dockside amusement park, go to the marina and get their boat or even have some fun in the sun.
Diverting Mines: A maze of mine tunnels to keep unwanted trains away from the Money Pyramid, one who knows the secret to the maze shall be able to pass through but there is the possibility where some other train can follow the one with the solution and get there also.
Money Pyramid: A large pyramid that has military turrets surrounding it to keep intruders out, but also will attack trains delivering valuables unless they have the right way of confronting with them. The place is where your most precious possessions can be safely stored forever and ever until you want to bring it out.
Tropical Jungle:
Unnamed Jungle Village: Large tribal village that houses many wild digimon, manages to have it's own station and railyard.
Jungle temple: Haven for wild digimon when feeling in danger, but also sometimes gets taken over by some bad guys.
Ancient Dino Ruins: The name almost says it all but has a town with many dinosaur digimon inhabiting it, it's also the central point for the J.S.F.D.S.T.C.L. (Long name there)
Overdell Cemetery: It's like in season 1, only has a scrapyard and even a so-called "Locomotive graveyard" the tracks at certain times will be constantly be in use by ghost trains.
Out east of the jungle is a few stops on some smaller islands, there's a fishing village that sells, well, fish and other seabound stuff and the Water temple.
Stone Area:
Nothing much but the 3 quarries, the many mining facilities and the Mountain temple, but there are some towns around the area.
Ice Region:
Freezeland: Just an icy town with a big railyard.
Ice cream factory: The most popular stop for any railroad, lotsa ice cream and other frozen sweets are mass-manufactured before having a train with refrigerator cars come along.
Snow Temple: Snow digimon come here for safety.
These two other locations just have one big city or village:
Factoral Town: Huge city of industry that manufactures things from A to Z and has many lines in it for easy-access for freight trains.
Primary Village: Ah come on! You outta know about this place by now! Anyhow, some new track was made in case a baby digimon where to somehow manage to take control of an engine and run off in it, made to sidetrack them until a crew comes to get the engine and take the baby back. The new line was made since babies tried to get to toy town.
Desert: Possibly the most important place in the railroad, having the most track, many unique stops and vital locations for reasons yet to be known.
Yokomon Village: Homes a bunch of Yokomon.
Mines: for mining things, what else?
Mystery Portal: Leads to a massive dimension that will allow any train that comes in to access multiple realities, time periods and a few other stops, our heroes may end up seeing these other places.
Infinity Mountain: Has a lot of stops but I can't fit them in there otherwise it would be crumpled up.
Mountain village: It's just a village, nothing much.
I.M.C.R.R. starting point: Where all cog railway trains start and rest.
Summit: Well, it's where you can see the entire island and sea.
Important facts to know about the entire railway:
They make sure railbound villains and rail pirates are kept off.
The railroad actually owns some giant robots. I have yet to tell.
High quality like any other good railroad, like the golden age of railroading in the U.S. or any other country.
They definitely aren't Scamtrack.
A lot of the train drivers before there were more engines and drivers for it to become International Railways had special armor on that made them look like generic Sentai/Tokusaku superheroes.
There are some adventures that are similar to the Thomas ones, only more detailed.

No problem, It was inspired by many fictional railways like Sodor, Hyrule from a certain Zelda game and others, part of an ongoing idea of a series of stories of a group of friends and their steam engine's adventures in the digital world.
