Description "The partly clouded weather will last... FOREVER!"
"MWHAAHAHAHAhaha ha haa... wait that's not right."

Making fun of the MLP:FiM mobile game by GAMELOFT. For those not in the know, the "story" of that game is that Nightmare Moon has returned again, destroyed Ponyville and shattered the elements of harmony. Also, all of Twilight's friends are now missing. For some reason, now you need to pay massive amounts of money to convince them to come back. Oh, and rebuild Ponyville too.

...the fun thing is, that Nightmare Moon never brings about Eternal Night. Actually, it's sunny throughout pretty much 95% of the game, with the exception of a single minigame where you draw star constallations on your touchscreen. The only indication we get of her influence is that some of the map is slightly darker than the rest.

... It struck me as hilarious, in the opening "cutscene" Nightmare Moon proclaims that I'll never see the sun ever again while it is RIGHT THERE.

EDIT: ...okay, even the game itselft admits Nightmare Moon's ineptitude: [link]

Extra thanks to for quickly helping me with the proper English formulation for the punchline.

Btw, anypony care to add me to their gift... err, I mean, "friend"-list so I... err, we can gain more "hearts"?
Not really being very active recently, but... eh.

Holy horseapp-- A wild EQD feature appeared! [link]
Who'd have thought?! After submitting various stuff every few months or so with nothing happening (their obviously a busy lot! I can totally get behind that. ), I don't do anything myself and suddenly I get featured! What were the chances?

Well, while you're still reading this, let's exploit--- err, I mean, here's a selection of some of my other MLP:FiM comics.

-65535 gold things?
-65535 is the lowest number you can get with a 16-bit number.

SpikelyWhiplash In reply to mathias9807 [2013-06-02 19:55:58 +0000 UTC]

Actually, with a signed 16-bit integer (and it needs to be signed in order to hold negative values), the lowest you can get is -32768.

Derp! I meant an unsigned integers highest value is 65535.

UltraTheHedgetoaster In reply to mathias9807 [2013-06-02 19:53:58 +0000 UTC]

Lil' computer science in-joke

...well, although to be entirely accurate, it'd have to be -32768 for the lowest negative number in 16 bit, or simply a positive 65535, since the number range for 16 bit can only include 65536 numbers (counting zero), which would be either 0 to +65535, or -32768 to +32767.

But 65535 = "FFFF" in hexadecimal, and I used to hack videogames with cheat devices, so I like that number.

UltraTheHedgetoaster In reply to animefan217 [2013-06-13 18:36:26 +0000 UTC]

Actually, personally I prefer the opposite - it's easier to heat a room then to cool it down.

To heat a room, all you need is a radiator, which is usually build-in by default.
To cool a room, you need to buy an air conditioning system. And those are friggin' expensive!

animefan217 In reply to UltraTheHedgetoaster [2013-06-14 20:09:35 +0000 UTC]

you could use a fan and open windows an we use heaters which can be just as expensive even if you dont have to buy it if i had the choice, money, college, knew what its gonna be like, and a job i rather live in southern FL and deal with the heat an few hurricanes then the ohio winters i have to deal with winters in ohio never end

spritefan10 In reply to Orcbrother [2013-06-02 19:36:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but not very much money. I mostly benefit off of their gems however it is very easy to run out of shards from them unless you wait to the point of having 999 (with the most likely possible exception of magic shards and/or loyalty shards) in everything and destroy them all at once.

But hey, Gameloft gives us three gemstones every five (!) days if we play the game every day. Surely, if one were to be persistent, patience would be rewarded, right?

...actually, yes! If one were to play the game every day for the next 17 years, you'd get 3723 gemstones, which would be just 700 gems above the minimum required amount to complete the game. Dunno if you'd have all the ponies, but eh.

"...uhm, yay?"

Supersheep64 In reply to UltraTheHedgetoaster [2013-06-02 20:54:28 +0000 UTC]

Celestia alone costs 950 gems, meaning that it would take you roughly 317 weeks to amass enough gems to unlock her. That's about 6 years.

I count 11 other non-Mane 6 ponies with costs ranging from 100-800 gems averaging out at 443.6 gems per pony so that's roughly... 8 and half years times 11 equaling at 93.5 years. And that's just for the expensive ones.

So it's not really feasible to unlock all the ponies without paying exorbitant amounts of cash to get truckloads of gems.

Oh, but don't worry, because you can pay to play the Balloon pop game for 25 gems in order to get a chance at unlocking Celestia on the cheap. Oh, and the 11 ponies that are only available from the balloon pop game.

Because why wouldn't you want to? It's not like you've exchanged paying ludicrous amounts of money in order to unlock an off-model version of a pony, for paying ludicrous amounts of money for A CHANCE at unlocking an off-model version of a pony.

Oh wait, that's exactly the problem. THANKS GAMELOFT.

You're forgetting about their extremely generous offer to let you collect two extra gems every day by sitting through 15-30 second ads for their other wonderful products. That's a total of 13 gems every five days. Plus another one or two if you happen to be lucky enough to find Derpy *and* if she randomly drops one when you do. Heck, if you're really lucky, you should be able to unlock Celestia in just under a full year of playing the game- Every. Single. Day.

And people wonder why we're all so cynical about this game...

All you have to do is go to the store where you would normally buy gems and tap the big "GET FREE GEMS" button on the left. They only let you do it twice a day, though.

Which platform are you on? I just updated to the latest iOS version and tried it. It still works for me. In fact, it let me do it three times today, instead of only twice. Not sure if that's a bug or if they intentionally raised the cap.

UltraTheHedgetoaster In reply to Orcbrother [2013-06-02 17:42:30 +0000 UTC]

I didn't know she was the one sending the parasprites.

Makes sense, though. You need to feed them the broken and shattered remains of the elements of harmony to make them go away, after all.

...

Kinda odd that they never run out of Element-shards, considering there's only so many pieces to make up a tiara and five neclaces. Doesn't seem like a very smart move to feed the most important artifacts in Equestrian history to a bunch of insects, but eh, who am I to judge.
