Description
Actually, a piece I did quite a long time ago. The style was inspired by some of Beardsley's pieces.I was asked by a lovely lady and publisher to clean it up and make a version for her to publish and use as something of a logo.
This is just the rehash of the original, and not the version she will be using.
For any of the curious, this is what the orignial one looked like .
I'm much happier with it now

It's not a girl
I just like drawing guys androgynous. though would be kind of fun to draw typically male deities as female.

My only critique is that the figure, especially in the face, appears a little too feminine. Other than that, I picked out the Beardsley influence immediately. It's quite lovely.

Admittedly, I do tend to draw (as that is what I find visually appealing) male characters rather feminine .^^:
But I am glad the Beardsley inspiration is immediately noticeable.

Thank you very much indeed, and I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.
It's a style I've not played with in a long time and wanting to go back to at some point.
Thanks again!

Yes, not everyones thing but I tend to step away from gender preconceptions, particularly when I draw dieties or similar.

Wow! I love the detail of it. Kinda reminds me of a woodcut for some reason. Or a print x3 I really like it The detail in the background is very stylized too. Nice work!

Lovely pic - I like this style! Much crisper and cleaner - reminds me of the old lithographs in my "silkies and fairies" books. You should do more of these

From the thumbnail on my message page I was all "OMG BEARDSLEY."
Beardsley is my favourite artist ever, you totally got his way with inks down PAT. I love the white dotted background bit especially. Good job!

Beardsley's work is awesome. I only wish I could make moth detailed and simplistic images work like he could.
I used to do Beardsley style stuff alot. That is that is hoe some small things about my inking style formed. You look at any of my inking you will see that I often use dots or a small amount of stippling at the end of lines or to form lines that arnt as defined as others.

Ah, the Horned God...I was planning on doing a version of him myself! I like the pose and the stark contrast of black and white, looks very Celtic. Too bad the religeous people ran him out of our sights!

I like seeing depictions of satyrs or Pan, etc. I would really love to see it, if you do finish a piece
And no they didnt quite run him out of the sight entirely. Christianity based its goat legged devil imagery off of pan They certainly destroyed the natural passion and freedom he represented though
