Description
The ancient giant bird Garuda. Like the phoenix, it can never die as it is reborn from its ashes.Took me around 7 hours (I didn't really count)

Description:
The Garuda is a huge crane-like bird. Its body feathers are red and its head/neck is golden orange. The tip of its wings and its face have black feathers. Some blue and green ones are also found on the Garuda's chest and its wing's shoulders. It draws its powers (mainly healing and fire/light elemental powers) from the red fiery gem on its chest. Destroying this gem is the only way of preventing the Garuda from rising again. It is not an easy task and is strongly advised against, since the Garuda is one the rare Legendary beasts that cares about other life forms and will use its healing powers on them.Part of the ultyzarus.deviantart.com/galle⦠(Crystaba Realms Project)

I just had to come to admire this piece again! I just adore it so much. One of these days I will have some extra money and I am SOOO buying the biggest fanciest print of this, hopefully the wood one, I would hate to frame the picture and take away from it.

Truly inspiring. It's so warming and beautiful and brimming with life. I truly love this picture.
The lighting is amazing, the way you can manipulate it and draw it up like that. And the textures are so tactile, that I could almost suspect my screen being soft to the touch. I love the play of colours, and the details like the gem and the darker feathers. It almost looks to me like the ibis is wearing a mask. And I applaud your patience throughout the constant detail of the wings.
I'm inspired.

It is a very nice work. The textures and detail is stunning, and the bird itself is magnificent.
However, I kind of wish you had used a bit more shadow to make the bird stand out more. [for example, shade the trees and ground more, so the light from the bird stands out more.] Otherwise, it seems to blend into the background just a little. If that was your intent, then kudos to you.

Thank you. Most of my pics are hand drawn first though. Using only photoshop generally ends up with a mess, especially regarding the composition and proportions.

I like the blend of colors. It's as if the palette used was very small yet such a big picture was made with it. It flows so well both foreground and background. This would look great hanging on the wall
