I'm glad to hear you say that, because I was really picky with Uly about the eyes. They were the only thing about the whole composition that I didn't think was perfect on the first viewing. Everything else - facial and body shape, skin tone, lighting, posture, expression - was ideal. It actually looks a lot better than I thought it would. Uly seems to have a real knack for lighting characters with flame (I know the lights here are electric, but the colour is similar). His recent works - Phantom, Elijah at the Carnival in Venice, the Desert King, and now this one - all look wonderfully atmospheric. Phantom stands out as the masterpiece, though

The eyes are actually my favorite part. XD

You do have a point about the fire lighting though.
Though I don't think I like Phantom as much. X3
