Description
As the darkness grew stronger and overwhelmed the land, Gregory only knew one place save for his beloved prince. He had cared for him all his life, he was always prepared to fight for him to the very end.And now he had failed, had lost the only one he ever loved to the forces of darkness. So he took the prince to the Sacred Grove and left him peacefully in the warm light. He would return here after he had defeated the darkness. He would return and save his prince.

Remade the pic once again, now Gregory isn't wearing his armor and I added a thin blanket over the Prince

I'm not sure which version I like better. This version is certainly more intimate and more "realistic" (and you can see Gregory's face) but the first one emphasized the "fantastic" aspect a bit more and also told more of the story. The armored Gregory made it clear, that he would leave for battle, here you have to read the story to know this. (I don't want to say, that this makes one picture better than the other, I just want to point out their different perception on my part.)
I like us use of volumetrics to accentuate the light which is a central part of the background story, very well done.

I cannot really decide which version I like better but you're right, the first one emphazised the fighting aspect much more. I'm just not so happy with the armor. I couldn't buy the Celestial Armor at the moment and I just don't like Lords of Battle so much, so I made a second version without it
