There is a roleplay/character group-thing in Tumblr that I've become a part of. feralcoffee.tumblr.comMy character is this male saltwater crocodile who specializes in elemental magic (whether it is summoning elementals, invoking the elements into objects or simply casting it forth) and is a regular at the coffeeshop.

The drawings I picked make him look like a grumpy intimidating person, but he is actually rather soft-spoken and rather hesitant in speaking.
I very much like this group, I'm fond of anthro-characters that fall near the animal-end of the scale (as opposed to furry which is like... 2/3 human, or gijinka which is like 9/10 human((though I like pokemon gijinkas but that's not the point here))) and it's great to have a nice non-porny group in its early stages to jump into. I'd probably be more intimidated to join if it was a long-standing one.
The elementals are the designs I've chosen for the specific ones Waltraud has tamed. I would like to make a point that if anyone else feels like getting into the group, I'm not dictating the design of elementals and you can design yours however you like. c:

Yoooo I really like this guy too. How does rp even work on tumblr? I have heard of such things but I've only seen Homestuck fantroll rp around, which involves reblogging with text and an appropriate talksprite picture. Is this any similar?

The roleplay thing didn't last for very long (the people running it lost interest) but I do like all the characters that were made for it. D:

Thanks~ I've always preferred characters like that, too. I think it's related to me preferring characters with no face/skull for a face/beard and stache. Even though with age I came to appreciate human faces, I still have a preference for the non-human faces I suppose.
(plus of course it feels a bit goofy to make an animal character and not use the characteristics of that species of animal.)

You got it! It's a coffee-shop with feral characters (apparently anthro characters who can turn into a non-anthro animal of their species). All characters also should have a rpg-style class, because world is magic and there are monsters that might come cause trouble.
The group admins(?) are also coming up with challenges to draw or write about your character (for example, today was a challenge to draw your character fighting a monster (or just draw a monster, or your character post-fight, or just your character in their battle-outfit.)
One of the first challenges was to draw/write about your character on a very busy day at the shop.
All in all, I like! Coffeeshop-rp:s usually don't interest me since they're too... I don't know, idyllic? I like rp:s that have problems outside of inter-character relationships.
