:sighs: Why am I so obsessed with lizard people?Anyway. I'm experimenting with textures. I like the effect myself. Lemme know if y'all like it.

I love reptiles and this is a very good piece because of it's really good details, ambiant lighting and interesting design. I really like textures on his arms, legs, face and belly. Very fitting.

Thanks very much, man. I dunno anything about gimp reeally. I can tell you how I did this in photoshop though.
The lizardman himself was just done with a ragged hard round brush with textures in the textures palette of the brush section.
The ground was done on a layer behind the lizardman, with a scattered version of the brush, then I applied a median filter, it's in the noise part of the filters. (I need to go back and re-detail the part of the ground nearest his feet so that he really "sits" on the ground
