Description For 's Fire Emblem's 20th Anniversary Collab.

This picture is not entirely accurate because I was looking at a reference while sketching it out, then I stopped looking at it and didn't bother checking before I inked so her outfit's a little off (ex. her long rope thingys are supposed to be loops? haha idk)

I tried out different poses for her but some of them either wouldn't fit on the page (... because of her clothes), made her look like she was going super saiyan, or looked the same as in the official art (it seemed important at the time to not have it look like the official art). So I came up with this.

Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Love how you took the time to add in the extra details like the patterns. That has always driven me crazy about making Fire Emblem fanart.. too many.. patterns and textures!

lol, they do like their fancy clothes, especially for people marching into war. TBH, I only drew the pattern once and then I c&p it and skewed it to match the folds

It's okay, she's legal in RD... maybe. So it should be more like, "YAYZ, Y'UNG WIMMINZ"... which is no less questionable XD

Anyhoo, hyep- I do applaud the colouring job in this pic. Seeing as how you generally use pencils, this is really sumthin'.

I dunno, most of the female characters look like kids' heads on adult bodies, a lot of babyfaces going on. RD Sanaki is seven heads tall... but you're right, she does look really young... or something... ARRRGH too hard to tell.

I WAS going to do it in colour pencils, but I wanted to take another shot at digital colouring. My secret is the pen tool, and lots of it

Ah- ambigous age- the bane of all anime/manga style characters.

And, gah- that gawshfarned pen tool- so danged finicky. Used it once- ain't sure if I'll ever want to wrangle with it again.

Sometimes, I see these characters that look like "imma high school girl with eyes takin' up half my face which coincidentally looks like it belongs to a 6 year old, check out my DDs" Honestly... what a mish-mash.

The lineart is scanned because for the life of me I cannot get my mouse lines to look smooth... so to colour, I spam the pen tool and clipping mask over everything. The pen tool really does take a bit of practice >_> Lots of neat things you can do with it, though.

You actually did a good job, so it looks like you didn't HAVE to look at the reference. Personally, I like the way you did her rope trails. Very well done.
