Mockinjay Pin, made of Perler beads.The sprite used as a base is from the iphone game, with some minor tweaks.
My biggest bead work so far. I had to use 9 boards, but only because it was just barely beyond a 2x2 square. This one measures about 11.5" in width and height. I don't know how many beads. If I go back to my original sprite sheet and check the pixel count, I'll update the info.
This looks really great from a distance and at certain angles. I'm quite pleased overall with the design and the colors. I'm not as pleased with the ironing. The white and pastel yellow beads just didn't want to melt, and some of the darker beads around them were melting too fast. I'm sure some if it is just lack of practice and some of it results from an old iron that probably doesn't heat evenly anymore.
Colors used were rust, butterscotch, cheddar, pastel yellow, and white. All Perler brand.
Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Maybe mount and frame it. In the future I want to revisit the design to make a smaller version.

This is awesome! The best I've seen so far. I've started to make one like this yesterday but ran out of brown beads. It's huge! I want to hang it on the 2office" door here at home. I'll post a picture later, giving you all the credits, of course. Just great!

Aw, thanks! I unfortunately don't have a good sprite for you to reference (I based mine off of the icon from the app store, but did some resizing and tweaks by sight). But feel free to use this as a pattern if you want. I listed the colors in the description. It's big though. Expect to use about 2500 beads, and it's about 2 pixels wider than a 2x2 grid, so plan on using 8-9 boards depending on how you lay it out.
