(Created for the September Artisan Crafts Monthly Challenge: Winged Creatures .)
The mockingjay and arrow are my own design!
I've read the Hunger Games trilogy and never seen the film, but I have seen a picture of the movie's take on Katniss' mockingjay pin. When I saw the theme for this month's AC challenge...I knew what I had to fold!
The mockingjay's a bird so I tortured myself played around with a bird base for a (long LONG) while and had fun with the wings, especially; had to (unfortunately) use a little cut to get the tail I wanted. Happily, the arrow's super simple.
(Trivia: the background is the blue material of a dress I have. In the book, Madge gives this to Katniss and pins it to her reaping dress, which is blue. Tada.)

I love the series, came unto it when the first movie aired and my older sister told me "that's part one of three. Want to read them?"
Sure I did and I was blown away by the story, now with Mockingjay.1 in cinema I'm deeply impressed how well they captured the troubles Katniss faces.
Nice take you did on the symbol, although the arrow is nowhere mentioned in the description it fits well with the rest of the story.

Super honestly? Not at all! I WAS inspired by looking at photos of real hummingbirds though, as the mockingjay is pretty hummingbird-esque

I'm afraid life is pretty hectic for me until about January-time, so it's unlikely there'll be any sort of tutorial before then as I'm so slow at making them! >____________> The particular Mockingjay in this deviation is for sale if you were that interested and didn't want to wait so long
