Description Work in progress on Dr Strange's arch nemesis the Dread Dormammu! Not sure if I'm going to add Nightmare in there or make him his own piece. I'll mull it over this weekend. Hope you enjoy!Β

Would rather have this depiction than the one in the film.

I love the film, but I was disappointed about Dormammu's appearance. Maybe his classical, flame-headed self is the form he is forced to take when outside of the Dark Dimension.

ForzaDelDestino2k8 In reply to SekayiJette [2017-09-17 04:31:13 +0000 UTC]

It's because Dormammu actually doesn't have a proper physical form. The humanoid flame-headed form is a form molded for himself to interact with our world.

SekayiJette In reply to ForzaDelDestino2k8 [2017-09-18 14:29:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I did read somewhere that his sister chose to keep her human form because she liked it. Anyway, he might take his traditional form in future films if he has to leave the Dark Dimension (it's probably more practical and energy-saving than manifesting as a giant, disembodied face).Β

He certainly doesn't need to wear armor or clothes, or have bloated muscles, as DarthDestruktor pointed out.

While he may not be the antagonist for the Dr. Strange movie (at least I doubt he'll be in the new movie), just introducing Strange makes introducing Dormammu very likely.

I think they already have a movie line-up for phase 4, but I don't know the specifics.

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-07 03:19:26 +0000 UTC]

I'll have to look if they've revealed a movie line-up, but it may be too early. We're basically in the beginning of Phase 3.

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-08 02:35:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and that it includes some anticipated films like another (better) Hulk movie, and more on both Hawkeye and Black Widow.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-09 02:43:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, agreed! Though if I remember it right, another studio has the rights to Hulk as a movie character, so Marvel Studios can't actually make a solo Hulk film until they get those rights. Until then, they can only use him in films where there are other characters involved.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-09 04:24:15 +0000 UTC]

That's interesting, because The Incredible Hulk, if I remember right, was filmed almost at the same time as Iron Man, and it counts as official canon for the MCU. Tony was in the extra credit scene talking to Thunderbolt Ross, and Ross took part in Civil War with the same actor (not to mention the WWII Super Soldier serum in cryofreeze). Bruce Banner and Rhodey suffered the same fate of having their actor changed right after their first appearance in the MCU canon (and that second actor stuck through).

Ah, I meant the one made in 2003 with Eric Bana. The one made in 2008 was allowed for the sake of introducing the Hulk into the MCU.

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-11 19:38:29 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I understand. I was 8 when the Eric Bana movie came out, so I didn't think it was that bad, a bit creepy at times, but not too bad. And even now, I'm not much of a film critic. In fact, I find it interesting to watch the different versions of movies and shows.

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-13 04:20:15 +0000 UTC]

Same here. But that said, it will definitely be some time before we get another standalone Hulk film.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-13 13:57:03 +0000 UTC]

I would like to see where this Hulk film goes though. The Norton film counts as the origin story, so at this point, we'll get a film where the Hulk is already established. Thunderbolt Ross is still around (and still delving into the conflict of heroes affecting our national security) from what we see in Civil War. The Abomination is most likely still alive, although I don't know if he was freed after the Winter Soldier movie or not. And now the Hulk has disappeared off the face of the Earth. Not even Ross seems to know where he is. As far as I can tell, they left the Hulk wide open for a film.

From what I hear, he is supposed to appear in Thor Ragnarok next year.

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-16 16:46:12 +0000 UTC]

I wonder how they can manage that. I can just imagine that Thor Ragnarok would take place across the different realms, and I haven't seen really any effects of it on Earth, yet...

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-17 00:36:30 +0000 UTC]

Well it may show earth for a few scenes, so that will probably be when Hulk shows up.

Who knows. Or they could do somethink like Iron Man 3's after credit scene.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-17 13:27:30 +0000 UTC]

They could, but he is supposed to genuinely be in the movie and not in a mid or after credits scene.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-17 21:56:01 +0000 UTC]

Ok, then it will be interesting. Perhaps Thor calls for a little help in kicking butt. This is supposed to be Ragnarok, and Heimdall should be able to see precisely where Banner is (unless something happens to Heimdall).

And I'm still trying to figure out where the Soul and Time gems will appear next. My guess is at least one of those will be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It showed Thanos grabbing the Infinity Gauntlet, and they have the earliest access to anything Thanos does. Of course, it may just involve the Aether in the Collector's collection. Another guess is one of them will be in Thor Ragnarok or Dr. Strange. In Age of Ultron, Thor learned that 4 of the gems have been located in about as many years. He was going to look into the stuff he saw in his dream, but he could also be looking out for another gem, or try to protect the Tesseract in Asgard's vault. Dr. Strange is a very likely candidate for an infinity gem or two, since both the Time and Soul gems fit the themes of Dr. Strange. And I think there's a chance that the two missing gems (or maybe one of them) won't appear until Infinity War part 1. Because I don't know if we'll see Thanos with all the gems in the first part. It's probably more likely the second part.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-20 04:39:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Chances are part 1 of Infinity War will be a sort of 'hold the line' with the heroes trying to keep Thanos from getting all of the gems once they are rounded up. If I remember right, the Aether is the Space gem though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Taqresu650 In reply to FanofManyWorks [2016-09-20 16:40:36 +0000 UTC]

I can see it being a "hold-the-line" moment, I can also see it introducing the Guardians or the Galaxy to the Avengers. But I thought the Aether was the Reality gem while the Tesseract was the Space gem. While at the same time, Vision's gem was the Mind gem, and the one in the first Guardians of the Galaxy was the Power gem. Either way, it leave the Soul and Time gems still yet to be seen.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FanofManyWorks In reply to Taqresu650 [2016-09-20 18:10:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I could be wrong about the Aether then. And yep, just those two left along with him having to gather them all. Wonder how the Infinity Gauntlet's full might will be portrayed in the MCU.

I really wonder about that too. I noticed a few interesting things about some of the stones. First of all with the Tesserect. Remember when Hydra made weapons with the Tesseract. The energy beams and sounds of the weapons firing sounds like Tony's repulsarsΒ www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKQtyh… Here at 0:55 and 3:07 hereΒ www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTqa-N… And the interesting thing is that Howard Stark studied the Tesseract more than most. I think that Arc Reactor technology is Howard's attempt to recreate the Tesseract. Nick Fury even said in Iron Man 2, "Howard saw the Arc Reactor as a stepping stone..." and Howard in a video said he was limited by the technology of his time (And he almost created a hovercar in WWII, and said that the Hydra sub was beyond him.
Then remember Loki's entrance in the Avengers, and the way the Tesseract pulsed. The Power gem pulsed the same way when the Guardians of the Galaxy defeated Ronan.
