yes I know... I have only ever been in one, I was in Portland Oregon back around 2000 when that big one hit Seattle... it was weird, cause it felt like a big truck ran into our apartment building or something, there was one big boom and one shake and that was all... at least in Portland... I was very glad I was not up in Seattle


we have minor ones here on rare occasions, but they are basically weak and most times they can happen and nobody even notices. From what I have seen, the area where I live is one of the safest places in the world when it comes to Earthquakes... not so good if China decides to launch nukes at us though... lol

I would like to have an underground home, there are all sorts of serious benefits to living underground, but most places won't even let you build one because of stupid rules that usually don't even apply

no for any house, they usually have all these laws about having enough exits and windows and stuff, and in an underground home, you usually can't have enough windows and doors to meet the code. But then again, how is an underground house, made almost entirely of concrete, going to catch fire in the first place?

I have done that... on SecondLife you can make Skyboxes which are basically platforms or boxes that float anywhere you want, and then have a house on there or make the whole thing a house or whatever you want... assuming of course you either own land on SL or know somebody that will let you build on their land

yeah it would be cool, but stuff like that can sometimes just not happen... I remember hearing back around 2000 that there were plans to have a solar sail space race... actually having people build spaceships, all powered by the light pressure of the sun, and have a race in about 2005... never happened... not sure if it was just because nobody actually knew how to build one, or nobody had enough money or what
