You can find a brief thing on the Deep-sea-prisoner drama on the Okegom fan wiki (A wiki for their characters and works). It happened at around 2014. It mainly involved a very offensive drawing they were commissioned for with their characters (the thing in mention already happened in their canon story mind you). Deep-sea-prisoner ended up apologizing for it, not knowing how bad that was. Fans didn't take the apology well and starting harassing them. Even calling them a pedophile (Even though Deep-Sea-Prisoner was a minor at the time from what I've heard). From then on, they started putting content warnings on their website, their social media and their video game download pages. They also prohibited the games from being live streamed and whatnot out of fear of those being very sensitive to the topics mentioned. To this day I still see people accusing them of being a horrible person who supports those things.Β
And I actually like Archive Of Our Own. Its honestly really easy to look through tags and find what you're looking for and what you aren't? And a lot of the people on there at least try to tag most of the stuff unlike other sites. The community there is at least more considerate.

I know I can't change your opinion, but I'm gonna say this anyway.
A lot, if not most, of the people who ship Frisk with Sans up Frisk's age. As in Frisk is portrayed as being 18 or older, which does not make that ship at all pedophilic. But if Frisk is being portrayed as being under the age of consent, especially as a child, then shipping them with Sans like that is pedophilic. In simple terms; older Frisk (18+) x Sans =/= pedophilic, younger Frisk (a child) x Sans = pedophilic.

frisk is their own character who, in the kickstarter, is described as a "lost child", that is controlled by the player. toby decides the ages. not the fans.
as for you and frans, that ship is based on absolutely nothing. there is no legit reason it should even exist. there is not even an ounce of logic behind it.
as for the flirt option, i highly doubt it was intended to be taken seriously. children can do that stuff jokingly, you know. it's not like frisk is like "lets bang lol."
lastly, the aus *are* just excuses to seem less guilty of supporting pedophilic ships. if you need to age up a character, remove key traits, or change anything else major just so your ship can "work" you need to rethink your ships bc clearly something's wrong

No, when I see an intimate moment between two consenting adults, I deem it romantic. Not an intimate moment between a minor and an adult. Many people ship characters that have been aged up. Yet when someone pairs an aged up character with an older character, for some strange reason some people think that it's pedophilia. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that's not how pedophila works. Pairing an aged up character with an adult character is not pedophilia because the aged up character is portrayed as being 18 or older.
Pedophiles are attracted to people who are children and look like children. They have no interest in adults, or those who look like adults.
I highly suggest that you look a term up and learn all that you can about it before discussing it.

all i will say is that you wouldn't have to do the aging up stuff if you didn't want to pair a kid with an adult. there's plenty of other things to ship, no sense in insisting that a kid belongs with an adult. "aging up" is an excuse to look less guilty.

But what about two aged up characters paired together? Is that wrong as well? As I see it, a ship is a ship. If someone thinks that two characters would be a good match for each other, then they ship them. Be it between two adults, two kids, an aged up character and an older character, or a de-aged character and a younger character.
There is also the question of "What would this character be like as an adult/older?" What would they like and dislike? What would be there strengths and weaknesses? What kind of person would be a good match for them? Those kinds of questions are common are they not?
And don't forget that unless something impends a character's growth into physical maturity, they will age and eventually become an adult.
Furthermore, we are talking about fictional characters, not real people. Most people know the difference between fantasy and reality, and don't confuse the two. So when people age a character up, they are portraying what (they think) the character would be like as an adult. Be it as a way to try to better understand a character or, as some people seem to have a problem with, to pair them up with a character that is older than them.
Such actions don't hurt others. Unless a person is shoving a paring in another's face, or is being a jerk about it, they should be allowed to ship what they want in peace. Because as I have stated, we are talking about fictional characters, not real people.
I don't remember that being a dA policy, but it has been years since I've last read them. So I believe that my memory of them is rusty. Though what does it say about people aging up a character to see what they would be like as an adult?
