Nice! Also, got any ideas on how the two universes could be united? Or rather, how they're one and the same? What's in both that is a significant part of both worlds?

Well, since Star Wars takes place in a galaxy far, far away and maybe because places like Homeworld and the zoo are like billion light years away maybe after one day of patrolling the system an Imperial ship encounters a Diamond arm ship and decide to attack and realizing that they're outnumbered the Gems try to retreat but are taken prisoners and are surprised that organic forms of life were capable of taking them down using a metaphysical power that maybe the Gems werent aware of because the Force could only be noticed and used by organic forms of life rather than the holographic illusions that are the Gem's embodyment.

Not a bad thought, but not quite what I was thinking. You see, the force is what's used by all of them, organic, gem, everything in the universe has it to some degree. And if it were not for the force, not only would organic life not exist, the gems wouldn't either. And what they call magic is in fact the force.
And, big shock, they've been to the SW galaxy long, long before the time of the empire. About 36,000 years before the battle of Yavin in fact. They came to the galaxy around then and They formed many colonies in that galaxy, on planets such as Orax, Ilum, Ossus, Nam Chorios, and their main base was on Christophsis.
Eventually, they found their way to the planet Tython, where the Jedi order was said to have originated from. Only, they spelled it a bit differently back then, it was the Je'daii order then, and they believed in balancing the force between light and dark.
But the coming of the gems seemed to interrupt that flow somehow, and turning the entire galaxy to Crystal probably wasn't in the best interests of the Je'daii, so, even though they attempted to broker peace between themselves and the gems, it soon turned to war.
Back then, hyperspace travel didn't happen very much, but the Je'daii found a way around it by using another form of transportation, a powerful gate known as an infinity gate was used by them on tython to be able to warp to anywhere In the universe, much like the gems warp pads. (The infinity gates were made by this other force using race called the Kwa, but I don't think the Je'daii could replicate making it.) so they used them to go to where the gems were, and fight them.
Unfortunately, they were ill suited to the task, for they only used metal swords back then, which really didn't do much against the gems. Sometimes they were able to break them if they hit hard enough, and they could break them using the force, but their weapons were pretty ineffective against their outside aggressors.
The solution was to make a new kind of weapon, one that could cut through gemstones and their light bodies as well. And a Je'daii inventor, working with these other creatures known as the Rakata, managed to make the first lightsaber. More were made after that, and they used them to really fight back at the gems.
(And here's the real kicker! The lightsaber's blade is made from a gem shard! The energy is focused through the shard, and makes the iconic plasma blade we all know and love, which can cut through almost anything! So, basically, the Je'daii were using the gems' own kind against them!)
Eventually though, the gems really started to fight back, and even though the Je'daii fought bravely against them, they were no match for their overwhelming numbers. The solution was to use the great pyramidal starships called the Tho Yor that brought the force sensitives to tython in the first place. They channeled the force through them, specifically the dark side, and unleashed a giant wave of force energy that pulsated out from their planet, and permeated the entire galaxy, trapping every single gem there inside their gemstones, unable to form their light bodies, and just being stuck as glowing rocks wherever they happened to be.
Victory had been achieved, and the diamonds gave up on that galaxy, but in the shadow of their victory, the Je'daii were fractured, and some believed that the dark side they had just used could be the path to even greater power, while others feared and wanted to not be a part of it. Which eventually gave rise to the Sith and Jedi we know today.
So, what do you think of my backstory? Pretty cool, right? (A lot of that does fit into some of the stuff established in the legends continuity of Star Wars, and I thought it'd be cool if I tried to tie some of that stuff together. They kinda all have when pink was shattered, but if she told him that, i can imagine Palpatine just sneering and saying something like: "no. You have never known true suffering before, Blue diamond. But, you will!!"
