Okay, makes sense! I just was thinking to enter a really unique one. I'm seeing a lot of gems, some types repeated (which are all still lovely and unique and great), and I wanted to do someone that hadn't been done yet.
I have one lined up already, I just need to finish her and submit her. Is there a deadline?

Well you could try to look up unusual gems and start from there!
Also there isn't a deadline, the group will (probably) stay open for apps forever (unless i get like 20 apps a day lol)
