Event 5: Strange Movements - Introduction

Here's part 1 of event 5! The first part serves as an introduction, the comic featuring ya'll's gems will consist of the other part of this event.
Since this event is hosted to promote collabs, but mostly cause I've been in a rough spot lately, this event is also result of a collaboration between staff members! Bananeurysms did the lines (and background additions such as the walls) while PirateMutiny handled the coloring&shading. I'm so happy to see this finished and I'd like to officially thank you both for the help with this.

Event Information

A strange air of instability fills our beloved Oasis. Despite being careful and moving in the darkness, both rebel and loyal gems have noticed something's amiss. Be it strange arranging of gems, whispers heard in the corners, and overall, peculiar movements are all signs that the order of things has beem compromised and, perhaps, underneath a fake and functional daily life something big is boiling.
The Queen is not pleased.
Ever since the last rebellion, she has made it her top priority to keep the gems and her Oasis safe. From harm, and divergent opinions.
To counter and discourage a organized insurrection, the Queen herself had some of her trusted collaborators, the Chief of Guards and the Chief of Gardeners, enforce the control over the territory, under the guise of supervision in preparation for the Carnival.
Strawberry Quartz was to enforce guard rounds, reducing the amount of time every corner in the Oasis stays unguarded and radically changing the patterns.
On the other hand, Bordeaux issues a meeting of the gardeners, distributing more of her pins. Unbeknownst to most, some of them were also placed as decoration, undistinguishable from your average roses if not to a attentive eye, to spy on even the more secretive conversations.
With such a counterforce being prepared, it is obvious that the rebels must not stay idle. Acquiring guard rounds is now top priority in their missions, so more meetings and planning can take place.

Event Guidelines

This event is the preface to the comic that will show its canon resolution. However, as I announced a few weeks ago via Discord, responding to this event will be a bit different.
As a way of varying the usual "response" format, I thought about turning this event into an opportunity for the members to come up with their own version of this part of the story, with the gems they want and resolving it the way they want.
So in short: while we will be doing an official comic that is the canon, we're encouraging everyone to do their own versions as a collaboration with other members with the following plot guidelines:

Obtaining guard paths is essential to the life of the rebellion and, because of this, a group of 4 rebels has been sent to investigate the guards' movements and tournaments around the Oasis. The mission seems to go smoothly, weeks of training how to avoid enemy eyes and to move in the shadows have served the group of rebels well. But the enemy side is always on the peak of alert, and during retreat, the group is spotted by a group of 3 loyal gems and yelled after for questioning. The distance and dark hours of the night make it so the rebel gems are not recognized, however, and the use of a smoke bomb allows for their final escape. This is, however, the official signal that something's cooking, and the loyals will have to stay focused on their tasks if they don't want to see the thin balance the Oasis lives in crumble.

What is above is but a summary describing what will, roughly, take place. The details are left out both not to spoil the actual canon comic in the making, and to allow you to have full reign in how the events are going to unravel in your own version of the event.

Collaboration between members is VERY encouraged, as I think it would be fun to see everyone's art convey into one final piece. However, one can also make a comic with their own group of gems if they will. If you want to include other people's gems without collaborating, remember to always ask for their permission first.

This event is the last one before the beginning of the Carnival! This means you can now make sidequests for the Carnival days, if you wish. There are, however, some days that will be plot relevant so if you want to make side quests, DON'T do them for: day 1, 5 and 7. As for the rest, you're free to do as you wish, so long as you follow the schedule that is. For more information about the Carnival, visit this journal: Festivals in the Oasis

As stated, the gems that are going to be featured in the official comic are:
Rebels: Phantom, Noreena, Horn and Peach Pearl! The loyals are Red Spinel, Achroite and Heliodor!
Thanks to everyone for offering your characters and voting. And if you didn't place, I'll feature more character in the future, so you still have a chance!

Responses can be either written or drawn, although drawing is preferred.
The quest applies to the non admin ranks.
The quest doesn't have an expiration date.
Upon completing your drawing, please remember to submit it to the correct folder and put "Event 5" somewhere in your title
Only people who have had their app submitted may participate in this quest. Having completed event 4 is not required for the collab entries, because they're not going to be the actual canon, but remember that you won't be able to continue with the events with those gems until you're up to date with quests anyway.
