Event Information

A slip, a fall and a broken rule, enough to unleash the wrath of Red Rose Diamond, the otherwise known as gente ruler of the Oasis.
Not much has passed since the accidental fusion: just enough to find the culprit, ease down the stupor, comfort the disturbed and the entirety of the Oasis is sent to the main square, pouring outside of the palace's walls to gather and witness the punishment such an outrage has brought to the gem unfortunate enough to fire up the Queen's wrath.

A mistake, a tragic accident, a pity that the welcoming ball has so been ruined.

The chattering is loud as the culprit, identified as Sky Blue Topaz, the entertainer, is escorted amidst the square where most eyes, but mostl importantly the two cold eyes peering from behind the queen's mask, could see.
Rosaline Pearl, the other member of the fusion, has been taken to the nearest infirmary to be comforted. As a member of the nobility, she was not considered guilty and thus given another chance. Not the same could be said for the defective Topaz, who stood, trembling, upon the column of shame which rose her above the ground.

Red Rose diamond stayed seated in her throne, accompanied by her advisor, Moonstone, her lips pursed in disappointment as the accusation and ultimate judgement was read out.

This trial will be short, for I do not believe the audience will need any further proof of the accused's guilt other than their own recollections of the event. Sky Blue Topaz, mere entertainer, not only did fuse with a gem of another kind without our Queen's permission, but with a member of the nobility no less. An outrage which, should we be in the presence of any other, less merciful ruler, would certainly have sentenced her to her ultimate demise. However, in our Diamond's sympathy, such a punishment cannot be condoned. Thus, Sky Blue Topaz is sentenced to live with her gem cracked until further notice. A sentence much lighter, if I may say, than what could be considered just for the betrayal of her Diamond's loving trust. May this serve as a lesson to you all, and may her penance remind you of our gracious Queen's compassion, even when she owes none.
A short, even if concise speech anticipated what was bound to happen, as silence fell among the walls of the Oasis.
Red Rose Diamond left her seat, making her way slowly to the column of shame, bending over so her eyes could level those of the accused, filled with tears.
One of her fingers slowly caressed around Topaz's cheek, raising her bent head so she could look directly into her eyes as a sad smile adorned her face.
What a shame..
She commenced, shaking her head slightly.
Such a capable and graceful entertainer... It weighs my heart to see you disappoint me so.
I put my trust in you, welcomed you after you had been rejected, gave you a new life, a new purpose. And it all has come down to this. Even after everything I've given you, you force me to carry out something I never wished to have to do.
I struggle, you see, my little troublemaker. I struggle even to carry out a sentence so light, but it is a sacrifice I must make in order for my court members not to fail me again.
Red Rose kept her speech short, but delivered it with a melancholy even if disappointed tone as she approached the condemned gem.
Know that doing this pains me, and it pains me even more than seeing all my loving trust so brutally disregarded.
Was her final announcement, before she turned her attention to the Topaz standing before her.
Whispers began rising again among the attendees, as their Diamond's red lips came closer to the trembling gem, until a kiss was blown and the Topaz whimpered as a crack formed on her gemstone as a result.
The whispers turned into chattering as the defective, with her shaky physical form, was escorted away from the square by the Queen's personal guards, as the Diamond retired to the palace with her advisor, the signal that the trial was over and everyone was dismissed.
Some gems said the trial had been just, some gems whispered, in anger, that the punishment should have been far worse for such an outrage. Some stayed silent, walking away from the main square and returning to their activities.
One of them shed a tear, as she went back to tend to the roses, even though it was concealed by the ever present unnatural smile of her mask.

Or do they simply walk away, knowing that their unpopular opinions could be the cause of them ending up in the same place as the unfortunate Topaz? Let us know with your response.

Responses can be either written or drawn, although drawing is preferred.
The quest applies to all ranks, since the execution takes place in the central square of the Oasis.
The quest doesn't have an expiration date.
Upon completing your drawing, please remember to submit it to the correct folder and put "Event 3" somewhere in your title.
Only people who have had their app submitted and have entered event 2 may participate in this quest.

This marks the end of the neutral quests. If you have changed your mind about your gem's alignment, this is the last call for making your final choice. Please let the admins know about your change, should there be any, for starting quest 4, the alignment will be official and you won't be able to change it further unless agreed by the staff.
Please keep in mind that we won't accept changes in alignments if your previous quests have an outright depiction of your gem's loyalty/disrespect of RRD's rule.
