The War had left many able-bodied mares and stallions crippled and incapacitated... they were the lucky ones. Applejack's hind left leg had been severed, her right hind leg had had tendons severed, and both of her forelegs had had their bones crushed so badly that there would be no means of mending them. She volunteered to have experimental new cyborg legs attached in place of her old limbs, so that she could still put in an honest day's work and earn a living for herself and those she loved. While her hind right leg could have been salvaged, it would have left her with a severe limp, and so it too was removed. While she misses her flesh legs to this day, Applejack never regrets her decision. She could not have lived life as an invalid, and days she does not spend tending to her farm are days where she crusades in the name of aiding the disabled.

After a terrible accident left Applejack's legs unusable, they were amputated and replaced with superior, cybernetic prosthetics. With this upgrade, she can buck apple trees at an even greater capacity without the worry of her legs fatiguing out on her.
