heh, I like how MLP has suddenly(?) become political, and are now teaching our kids how bad communism is, and that even though we're supposed to be equal, there'll always be someone who's "a little more equal than the rest of us"....
It reminds me of the "good" old Cold War days. I guess next we'll have a Duck And Cover episode....

It is not communism.
Markism ideals are based on the unification of the common people to form a society where their products and the wealthΒ it generated was given back to the people who created it instead of an industry that didn't care for its workers.
You have to remember that this was back when work conditions were appalling. The workers are a mere cog in a larger machine; having lostΒ the joy in producing their own works and their own humanity in exchange for aΒ pittance. The corporation only cared for profits. Profit that would be lost if they increased workers safety and cared little for the human beings that maintained and operated the assembly lines.
Markism communism believes that humans operated best in communities and in specializing their own talents to further increase the communities standards of living. Starlight Glimmer believes that friendship -communities-Β cannot be maintained withoutΒ erasing the ponies individuality -Cutie Marks-Β in a system that is completely impossible to maintain.

I agree. Β Her backstory really needs to be expanded upon. Β (Perhaps it was originally a means of defending others from Tirek? Β After all, ponies who were drained of their magic by Tirek lost their Cutie Marks...)
And I think she'll reappear later on this season as well. Β I mean, the Mane Six didn't use their Element powers at all in the premiere.
Plus, it seems that it's a rule for FiM villains to have multiple forms.
(This rule wasn't broken in regards to Tirek; he changed appearance every time he got stronger, remember?)
