Description

Warning: Vore mention in the following info.

Because I can't stop at Karnroth and Loikaan, and I have a weakness for tortured predators (both kinds). I need giant abomination experiments for every dang universe. So, partly inspired from a dream, (and unnamed so far) this fellow is the result of an outlaw clan's efforts to achieve immortality through regenerative effects. However, their goals were too complex for such a relatively limited medium as a serum - they needed an entire, living system. They ended up creating a hybrid creature of several varieties of alien. He can revive the recently dead and heal some varieties of mortal wounds, but he does this through a mutually symbiotic, regenerative chamber, which heals those who are inside it. (Because I'm the King Midas of vore.) He was considered a failure, but not a complete one, and was used to revive other experiments - which saved the clan a lot of trouble searching for new 'material'.

He differs from my other regenerating giants in that healing others takes a toll on him, and he himself can only regenerate as long as his chamber is not 'occupied'. And he was more often occupied than not, so rather than regenerating his many wounds, he ended up collecting a number of scars and broken bones (for his cantankerous and 'uncooperative' attitude) that had to heal gradually, and now that they're sufficiently healed, his body doesn't even recognize them as injuries anymore. (So if you lose a limb, but the stump has scarred over, don't expect any miracles from him unless you're willing to 'reactivate' the injury by taking another chunk off.) Most of those scars on his face are from 'initiating' healing with very unwilling (and badly injured) smaller, fellow experiments. (And his creators/captors 'force-feeding' him.) Even if scars are considered aesthetically pleasing in many Yautja cultures, he's not very proud of those ones.

Tooling around DA every once in a while come across concepts that are similar in ways to what you've written here, either story or art. I was a huge vore fan before coming to DA and had never ever thought or considered vore as a form of healing or even hibernating or anything else other than sustenance or revenge of the pred.
I always imagined my fantasy of being ingested as a one-way trip, but these concepts open a whole other world in relation to vore for me.
I really appreciate art with the story most times and this guy is such a paradox.

I love exploring unconventional uses for vore! And I feel there is still a lot of unexplored territory where that is concerned. While sustenance, revenge, or punishment are popular purposes for vore (and rightly so, exciting as they are, and seeing as what ingestion does when it comes to most species on this planet), I see vore (on its most basic level, and regardless of its many possible purposes) as a form of highly intimate connection. (And when I say 'intimate', I don't necessarily mean sexual, but that's a ton of fun, too. Just one of the many potential meanings or aspects of that connection.) In that way, it can be interpreted as one of the most intense manifestations/demonstrations of a relationship whether predatory, parasitic, mutually destructive, mutually beneficial (my personal favorite) or any mix between those or beyond - and many ways to express those relationships/connections, even through the same action or process. Healing is just one exciting function that helps define/demonstrate a connection or relationship.

Another (mutually beneficial) idea that I find exciting and want to dive deeper into is the idea of literally, neurologically connecting to one's predator or prey - either (temporarily or permanently) 'fusing' into a new entity/identity with the skills, memories, and temperaments of both partners, or (to use a Pacific Rim term) allow both participants to 'drift' together to face challenges that neither could take on alone (or at least, not without the near-perfect coordination that the 'drift' would provide). What more secure way to 'hook up' to one's partner than from inside? And the idea comes with the promise of unconventional biology, whether for the predator, the prey, or both, and that's a whole other exciting realm to explore.

That, and I just adore the 'paradox' that comes with passing safely through jaws that could easily kill - of being in a place that should be dangerous, but is actually the safest place you could ever be. Just the thought of being able to trust someone so powerful that far thrills me to no end.

I've got to admit that he looks and sounds like a cool character but even that brief back story is so sad. I just want to give the big guy a hug.

After learning what the gesture means, he would be both bewildered and appreciative.

I'm really quite fond of those terrible, spine-stealing monsters! XD Worst sports ever, too. Always blowing things up if they lose. Though I suppose my pride would be stung too, if I had all this cool space-tech and a weaker, smaller 'Ooman' managed to thwart me with sticks and mud. Those movies probably say more about human confidence than human ingenuity or resilience, imo. XD All I can think of when it comes to actually fighting a yautja (or any hybrid of them such as this guy) is this 6 second video of a man vs a t-rex: www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6BQgm… - that's about how much hope I think we'd actually have.

And that's why Warqua (another yautja OC of mine featured in 'Lost in Translation': Lost in TranslationAshley couldn’t lift her head without a sharp ache erupting in her chest. She tried to keep her breath even, trying not to strain herself while she sorted out her location. The surgical bed below her was warm from her own body heat and the ambient humidity of the ship. Sweat itched on her skin, she thought she could feel each individual rib, and all the muscles in her chest felt inflamed with rough treatment. She wondered if her surgeon forgot to sterilize her injuries, but the thought soon passed. Warqua had too obsessive a personality to make trivial errors in his work.
A surprised yelp followed by a resounding crash emitted from the hallway beyond the med-bay door. Long-winded, furious, and creative alien invective followed, the most polite and compassionate phrase of which would have to be “Who left their damn blood all over my floor?”
“Might be mine,” Ashley groaned. Sometimes she wished she could turn the translator in her brain off. While she knew t) has a certain level of contempt for humans and hunting them. I apologize in advance for him. He's huge, ill-tempered, and sucks at telling people he likes them. I oughta draw him, too.
