Download the PDF to check it out.An excerpt from a player's guide I've been writing for Hyrule: Total War, this bit focusing on those angry Deku Scrubs. Some AquaTiffy stuff bled into it.
The fonts, layouts, and appearance of the guide is heavily inspired (nay, outright based entirely on) the Official Nintendo Player's Guide for Ocarina of Time: zeldauniverse.net/wp-content/uβ¦
The cover of that guide was the very first image I ever saw of anything Zelda related, and pretty much was my entry into the series. That guide itself is pretty unique as well: instead of telling players exactly what to do it was written as a Historical document, chock full of chronology and lore (I know, something extremely rare in the series these days). As such I've modeled my guide in a similar manner: avoiding dumping numbers and statistics on players except where necessary and treating the volume as a historical document.
Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress. Some of the technical aspects (such as Rupee costs) are prone to change as the game is balanced over time. Some features may be removed or have not been fully added in yet as well. Let me know what you guys think, and stay tuned for the other factions to show up!

I'm (finally) beginning to notice how you're bringing your HTW factions closer to the official Zelda designs.Β
For example, Ganon looks way more Zelda-ish in the overhaul than he did in the 'Rise of Ganon' mission videos you uploaded.

You know, after th Fairies of Tarm we got some VERY interesting and really awesome factions whose buildings were however quite dull.
And now here comes the Deku.Β
An this one, one of the factions I was expecting the least of in terms of buildings, actually offers some of the most beautiful creations in a forest setting I have ever seen.
Most of factions were just as awesome as a long time fan would expect. Those were one of the few that actually surpassed BY FAR those same expectations. I can't wait to see how the Twili or the Inkana look after their remasterization.
(I'll wait. We'll all do. I think I can speak for us all when I say that the time those take to make is 1000% worth it)

At this point, I'm beginning to believe Lon Lon Milk may in fact Β be just another part of Majora's Plan. Cause the only faction so far not to have them are the undead.

I miss the Deku Scrubs. They seem to have been pretty much completely replaced by the Octoroks as of late... even in in places nowhere near water for some bizarre reason.Β Β
I'll admit that while I don't share your level of dislike of the more recent Zelda titles, I can understand a certain frustration at certain creative decisions.

But, seriously though. Is the Mad Scrub disease caused by Majora? Or is it caused by Odwala who is just an extension of Majora itself? I get the feeling that it's something like that.

See? Nothing wrong with the cartoony take. Deku riding bugs, deku being deku, just deku are fun. And I think you brought that back with what you did with this take on them.
From what I skimmed (I haven't had time to look at it in depth), sounds like you made them an interesting race despite the jokey nature of deku in general. At least the business ferengi... I mean scrubs will do their thing

Though I am curious about the 'Rebel Factions'. Are they an upcoming guide of some kind?
Also, there's not that many Major Factions left to update now, is there? Only the Twilight, River Zora, and Ikana, I believe.
I'll guess the order of those three, actually: Ikana>Zola>Twilight.
