Description
”And what might your name be?”“Alexander.”
“Hmmm. So you can talk.”
“Y-yes, sir. I wanna go home to my mama!”
“Take him back! He can still talk!”
“Please, please! I don’t want to be a donkey! Let me outta here!”
“QUIET! You boys have had your fun; now pay for it!”
I feel bad for those poor kids turned donkeys. I always wondered what happened to them. So far as we know, Pinocchio is the only one to really get away.

Me too. I notice The Coachman is the only one with four fingers so he might be a Demon dissguise like a human.

Poor Alexander. Both him and the Donkey that came before him that was stripped of his clothes and crated off to the salt mines really pulled at my heartstrings. I really hate that the Coachman was never brought to justice.

The owner of that island is a shit scum! He must be stuck into hell when he was dead. I wished these poor kids also turn back to human when I was young. Maybe Alexander`s mom also find her son anxiously.

However, I was so angry. He does not feel like mankind although he looked like human. I was very poor those children like Alexander who deceived by the man and turned into donkeys. It is a obvious crime that deceived the children and made them donkeys. In childhood did not know, now it looks so angry at the man's crimes.

I know it's late but I felt like responding.
What's sad is that there are people out there that think the boys deserved it. Ending up at the mines and even being worked to death included. Some like to use the justification that they knew what they were doing. Even if that is true, it would never justify what happened to them .
I've actually had people get angry with me for suggesting it was too extreme a punishment.
I could take them becoming donkeys. Not only because they look cute that way and being a cartoon equine might be fun if you're free and well treated. As donkeys, the ones that really were bad kids like Lampwick, at least they'd be easier to keep an eye on. I'd like to think that it would be less harmful for them to give into donkey urges in an environment suited to a donkey. Yes, that assumes they have at least some mental change. However, I think from Lampwick's reaction after he changed that he did gain at least some donkey instincts/desires.
I don't mean taking them somewhere where they'd never see their families again. More like, a farm or sanctuary where they could be donkeys that were maybe semi feral/free and have a creative or positive way to let out those urges, rather then the destructive, bad boy kind of way Pleasure Island was for when they were boys and had, bad boy urges for lack of a better term (and I don't mean that in a way you could show in a movie like this). If they wanted to be a more domestic donkey, maybe allowing them to work if they want or live in a more controlled environment. Still being donkeys, but not as slaves. Maybe for some of them, it could be okay.
Being used basically for slave labor where few if any care about their welfare is just plain evil. We're getting into war criminal dictator level evil here. It's sad how in almost every what happened after story that one or more end up dying basically to show how bad being a donkey is or how mean some humans can be.
It's saddens me how everyone goes on about how great Pinocchio or a lot of these other hero class type or royalty type characters are. They get so much love an attention. In this movie at least, there are all of those boys that were basically forgotten just for making one stupid mistake. While one could argue that it's just a movie and it's not like they're real boys and it would be a valid argument, I think we need to remember the main (hero of the story where applicable) characters aren't real either.
I know they sort of had to show a sad fate for Alexander, Lampwick and the others to teach us viewers a lesson. I get that Pinocchio had to work very hard to become a real boy. Still, it feels like too extreme a lesson. Not everyone is a hero like characters like Pinocchio became but that doesn't mean that if you're not that you deserve to end up Lampwick or Alexander like a lot these sorts of movies seem to suggest .

It maybe sad, but a price is needed to pay for being mischevious and not listening to their elders. If a lesson isn't learned the easy way, then it's learned the hard way.
