I started with the background and later imagined a dragon swimming in it, so I believe it wasn´t as hard as usual to make this painting. My last pieces of art were made the other way around - I first drawed the dragon, then the background - and it was more complicated.
I hope you like it, I´m really proud of it. The dragon is inspired by Saphira, but isn´t supposed to be her, but it´s okay if you think it is her.

Also ich muss schon sagen, dass ich dieses Bild äußerst gelungen finde.
Beginnen wir mal mit dem Hintergrund. Es ist eine schöne Korallenlandschaft gewählt worden, die Richtung Vordergrund wandernd immer detailreicher und farbenprächtiger wird. Alleine die Details des Hintergrundes sind schon alle Sterne wert.
Nun zum eigentlichen Motiv des Bildes: Eindeutig die über alles geliebte Saphira! Ich bin ja absoluter Eragon Fan - alleine schon desswegen gefällt mir das Bild sehr gut. Auch hier wieder detailreiche Superlative. Das Spiegeln des Lichtes in den Schuppen, die Luftblasen, die von ihr aufgewirbelt werden und die eindeutige Spannung in den Flügelmembranen. Toll ist auch das Detail mit dem orangenen Fisch, der im direkten Blickkontakt mit ihr steht!!
Fazit: Das Bild ist einfach Super und hat nichts anderes als Bestwertung verdient!!

Ich weiß jetzt, was ich auf jeden Fall weitermachen muss. Die Details sind das Wichtigste, die habe ich in den neueren Bildern vernachlässigt. Muss ich unbedingt wieder einbauen!

Oh la la! So colourful! This piece is so filled with energy and movement/motion, it adds to the fact the the dragon is just a spectator of everyday life in the sea.

Wow! I came to your work through a journal post about getting noticed on DA, and this is amazing! You're very talented. I love your use of colour and lighting, which makes the art look bright but not in-your-face. I really like how it looks like a traditional painting.

It definitely does look like Saphira (I think I'll pretend it's her, there could be heaps of coral reefs outside Algaesia you never know), and I love the colours they're so bright and create a beautiful atmosphere.
