If I remember correctly it is only passed in the House so still some work to go.
But what is so weird about this one is that it can even reach women with private insurance.

THIS so much. I want to slap those who think that making abortion illegal will just make it go away... Because 57,000 deaths from illegal abortion in a year isn't good enough for them...

I completely agree. I refuse to be a second class citizen because I have a uterus, and I refuse to let someone tell me that I don't have the right to control my body. Thank you for the stamp!
(oh, and I'm fifteen, so you know.)

Just saying; it's ignorant to say "we won't go back (to coat hanger abortions)" when back-alley abortions are still incredibly frequently practiced, for a large number of different reasons. I even know two different people who've had them.

It's not going back to them, the idea is that as a woman we wont go back to them being illegal. The fact that they still go on is sad.

Oh my. :3 I JUST noticed this nifty little stamp. I'm a sucker for the pixel font. Powerful message, and I whole heartedly agree.

Yes.
Of course I don't. x3
I decided to stay with him. :3 My parents gave me all the options and such to do otherwise but I felt this was the best.
People would think that would automatically make me pro-life, my choice and all, but I'm actually pro-choice. D:

Thank you for posting this! It is one of the few good pro-choice stamps out on DA! Which is a surprise, in my opinion. Women have their views on why they do this. It's not murder. Not anymore murderous than supporting soldiers who have families (By families I mean spouses and maybe even kids).
Plus, the fetus can go towards stem cell research which is helping our society every day

I am 15 years old, a female, and a Christian.
I support a woman's right ot abortion. No one can tell another human being what to do with their body. Nobody in the world has the right to make a woman experience what she does not want. God gave us all free will, let us use it and make our decision without fear of backlash.
Even if abortion is banned, people will still go on having them, so what's the point of driving women to back-alleys and coat hangers? Now THAT would be murder.
Thank you for this stamp, Hanratty-Stock.

We shouldn't make women who have no choice but abortion - rape or poverty or simply too young - feel guilty about termination. Its unfair, its probably tearing them on the inside too.
I think I'm valid for the 'I'm 14 and have no idea about sex/abort.' section
I'd use this if i could.

Thank you. I think my favorite is when I see men standing outside the Planned Parenthood building protesting. Because they can totally get raped and end up pregnant. Or die because of a pregnancy complication. Or the parents standing out in thirty degree weather with their children (who should be in school or are infants and should be inside). And all the pro-life people who adopt all these orphans.
We should have the right to chose.

I have just had a quite interesting thought. The word 'rejudice' just came to mind so I pondered on it for a bit. Currently, we are all being quite prejudice. How I got to find this stamp was by searching 'evil' and then I found this. I first began to think this is all evil and stuff, but then again, my opinion doesn't matter to you people. It is your life, your choice; not mine. I personally couldn't live with the guilt, but that doesn't mean the world can't. I wish everyone an apology and hopefully declare what I call an 'opinionative truce'. I would like this entire debate to finish, but the likelyhood of everyone on either side to read this is, well, unlikely. My opinion shall not change, but I've come more around the middle. I will accept replies in the form of "I still hate you" or "Finally you're going to shut up!" or something along the lines of that. Any others that are mean and threataning that relate to it otherwise will get a formal complaint.

"My opinion shall not change" I wouldn't want it to - it is good that you defend your opinion - and that you stand true to what you believe in.
A debate is always good and you've put some valid points across and I respect that from you.

One thing about this too. Guys, whether we will ever conceive or not , can still have a say about it. Women weren't allowed to go to war at first, but they had their say. Girls weren't able to participate or watch sport but they had their say about it. So why can't we men have a say about your stuff?

UnicornReality In reply to Jackobi [2009-11-02 08:23:36 +0000 UTC]
Because they don't have to go through the horror of an unwanted pregnancy and then the birth. It's really very simple.
I am bored of you, this ends here.

Have you seen the faces of the women after they give birth? They don't just start puking and saying "Take it away! I don't want that putrid, mangled thing!". It's more like "Oh my gosh/god! It is so cute!" And so on, so forth.

You mean a maternity ward ISN'T a sunny field full of bunnies and flowers where the starry-eyed girl is sung to by hosts of sparrows? And the squeaky clean, laughing newborn DOESN'T magically appear smelling of talcum powder and lavender?
My faith in childbirth has been forever damaged. Woe is me.

And I wasn't implying that it was anything like that. I understand the pain and energy required to give birth. It isn't a walk in the park but nor is it hell. If the mother dies through birth, it isn't the baby's fault, it is the mother's for not taking proper care of themselves and the baby through pregnancy. And don't you frieken' dare to go on about age, experience or any other statement you will almost definately rant on about.

I am sorry for crushing your hopes and dreams.
But seriously, have you ever seen a baby be helped out of the womb with what looks like giant metal salad tossers? They stick 'em right up there and grab the baby's head, then pull it out. It's horrifying!

If I were a female, and I'm not criticising anyone, I probably won't either. Both genders have things that we can yet shouldn't do but end up doing them anyways. That is how these things start in the first place.
