Commission upgraded G1 Metroplex.Customer sent me a few links to show generally what he wanted- a huge highly articulated upgrade to G1 Metroplex. He and I loved the way Toby's big Metroplex build looked, so I used that idea for the torso and thighs build, made sure it was still transformable, and painted it in mostly the original G1 toy colors.
Metroplex stands at 17 inches tall.

Oh dang, I hadn't looked at this one since I did it back in 2012, but honestly I think it blows away the Hasbro one just because the proportions look better to me and the city mode is WAAAYYY better, plus its probably much closer to the same height as Trypticon.

How much of this do you diagram before attempting? I can't even wrap my brain damaged head around the amount of work or where to even begin such a project at yet you hammer a few of these upgrades a couple times a year. Awesome work!

I use a ruler sometimes, but mostly I just compare pieces and plan out where to start cutting and what can possibly be put together in a sturdy way while keeping whatever functionality is needed.

transformers that essentially become cities just bring out all of my 0_0 So, how big are the vehicles you have driving around in city mode? Micromachines and legends scale TFs?
