Description
I finally got Jetfire and I gotta say he's awesome.I had to get rid of all that blue and other crap that made him look more "toy" and less "movie accurate" though. I taped off all the jet parts because the jet looks great as it is, and I aprayed most of his body down with black. Then I spent a couple of hours detailing him to look like the old rust bucket he is in the movie.
I paused a few scenes from the film to get his colors as close to right as I could.
When I get around to merging him with Prime I will post a pic of the combined customs.

I was somewhat disappointed that he didn't come with that Axe weapon that he used on Mixmaster in the Film or Hasbro didn't bother making it for him in which you can buy it online and such.

I'm a little disappointed to say that Jetfire was the only thing I really liked about that movie, partly because he was an old man robot ( I thought he was funny) and partly because I go the museum ( don't hold me on the spelling but I pretty sure it's called the Udvar Hazy) almost every time I go to DC and instantly recognized him (actually I was trying my best not the freak out XD ) You did really good on making him look like he dose in the move, props to you.

No Problem. I still have him since I made it for myself but I have no room anymore so he and some others stay in the workshop. I'll ship him right to ya for $110.

Well I realize I went full asshole on you there. Really though, people generally don't like when someone asks a question in 3 different posts twice in a row and repeats the same post. All good though. I understand.
Just go get some Krylon flat black spray, use masking tape to mask off everything you don't want to paint, like over the jet top (cockpit, red decals, etc), then spray him down. Buy some enamel brush paints in silver and bronze to add details as you want.
For the worn metal look, dry brush silver lightly over all the black robot parts. Dry brushing is when you wipe all of the paint off the brush and lightly rub the brush over a surface. Look up an online tutorial on that and practice some first.

Seriously are you fucking 8 years old? 3 posts for every question and even doubles of the same post?
Get your shit together before you start typing man.
I already said I use model masters brush paints. The brush paints would be the enamels.

Oops I was thinking this was another figure. On this one I just used flat black spray paint and enamel silver drybrushing mostly.

What type/brand of paint did u use? U inspired me to make my jetfire more movie accurate so, What paint did u use? Also, will this paint adhere enough to the toy that i can still transform it w/o ruining the paint job?

Krylon fusion sprays and Model Master brush paints. It is still easy to scratch the paint if you aren't really careful.

You're welcome! Great work!
I want to get my own jetfire figure now, as I do love both the SR-71 and the Transformers and this is a very cool figure. I may even try my own hand at improving it as you have.
Take care and have fun your way!

its pretty wicked. I have the Fallen action figure and the detail it came in with actually looks like the movie.

The mold for The Fallen does have a lot of the detail from the film, yes. Unfortunately the colors are WAY off. The toy is green...
In the movie he's gunmetal and the Egyptian style spikes around his head are blue. I did a movie accurate custom Fallen if you haven't seen it.

I was really waiting for you to repaint Jetfire. I thought the blues were terrible but I always knew that underneath all that is a brilliant sculpt damn you surely brought it out. Nice job.

Thanks! I thought it instantly looked better when I just covered the blue and white with black spray paint. I like when a custom is so easy to do but has such nice results.

Pure and utter awesome! This is the first Jetfire custom I've seen and it is NICE
I have to admit, Jetfire's toy has some really strange colour choices - especially the white pieces I can't wait to see the combined mode

Very accurate. I saw the film a few hours ago ,and Jetfire and the other comedic parts were the only parts that made the film great besides the action.

It did have some big flaws and lack of character development. Still, I loved it. I guess after the first though it would be hard to meet everyone's expectations.
