Description
I finally got myself a SFBT-3 figure. Been wanting one for years and its pretty much all I'd hoped for.The plan has always been to make a robot custom of her by sculpting her a smooth robo hairstyle (maybe like EDI from mass effect) then painting her, but it being a $400 figure I dont think I want to fully repaint it...
You guys have any ideas?
I was thinking of giving her a black bikini look with some silver parts all over and maybe some teal or light blue parts but now I'm almost thinking of instead going a bit different, with like, black belly plates, biceps, and thigh parts. Maybe numbers and letting down one thigh side even. I dunno yet...Β Still thinking so I thought I'd post her here and see if any of you fellow artists can give me some ideas.

Yeah probably the best in fact, and I think that's mostly what its for. The joints wont let you move anything in a way the human body can't. Very cool how it works.

Yeah that's why I definitely won't be fully repainting her. Just want to add a few things to make it more definitively a robot and not just a creepy doll (as my wife calls it).

I'm gunna look through the decals I have and see if anything looks good. I think some are Nascar and military stuff.

i just know how hard it is to paint small things paint gets so thick when its brushed on even sprayed on so you either have to have a really steady hand or mask stuff off very good i know that thing is really expensive and you dont want to do anything thats not reversable

I've always wanted one too, but not enough to shell out that kind of cash. Good job!

Yeah as the years go by I never stopped wanting one and never found an equal at a better price so after having sold so much of my collection, I dropped the painful cash to get one...
I absolutely can't screw it up though!

Honestly? I'd put clothes on her instead of painting her. Well, maybe some waterslide decals. But then you could change her whenever you got bored with one look.Β
What scale is she?

1/6 scale, and I'm probably going to put some kind of clothing on her after I add some paint. I just think as it is she needs to be more obviously a robot because she has way too many odd musculature-like sections to be a person. Ive seen pics of actual hair wigs on these and didnt like it, but I think a robo hairstyle I can remove (and maybe make others for options) would be neat.
I did a mock up that I will post now for opinions.

Yeah I like them but the stubby legs and such slightly make me think of little kids and the prices were a bit too much for what they are.
As for those clothes, yep that would make a real cool outfit, though I wouldnt want to totally cover the legs. The robo-musculature of the SFBT3 is a big part of what makes it so cool. Ive never seen the Yoko Littner fiery top anywhere for sale in 1/6 scale or any other unfortunately but I always liked her whole outfit.

I'll let you know what I think when they finally release. And I'll keep an eye out for a Yoko outfit. You're right, it's weird that there's none out there.Β
