I only wanted to do a few things to my UW Combaticons when they finally came in. I'd planned for months to make a few little changes so the set was more of a mix of the G1 cartoon and original G1 toy set rather than sticking to just one or the other.HAD to make that orange on Blast off brown first off, then I added in some new details.
Added some of the old toy colors to Vortex.
Made the neon orange top of Brawl's head gunmetal.
Changed up the chest plate on Bruticus a bit and used that same dark silver-ish color on his crotch so it'd match his head and chest.
Kind of a quicky job although getting Blast off brown was a lot more work than I thought it'd be and I will probably do some touch ups at some point, but now I'm pretty happy with him.

Am I the only one that thinks the jet blastoff makes a lot more sense?

No, it definitely makes more sense, but they were all old retired vehicles, mostly from war time, and a fairly modern jet didn't really fit in that way. Plus we already had a whole team of jets so a shuttle was at least different, and combiners never did make much sense scale-wise.
I thought a helicopter on a team of super sonic jets was stupid personally, so I'm not a fan of Alpha Bravo.

Fair point, Although the way the combiner wars figures were designed to be more modern I thought a modern jet kinda fits in with the asthetic, but hey, you're right, we already have a whole team of jets anyway so lets not confuse everyone here XD
I tend to think of alpha bravo as not an aerialbot but like his own seperate character, so I don't mind him

Yeah I would have been fine with just getting UW Blast off and the Hasbro set if I could have, but at only $40 more for the UW version it had enough things about it I liked better that I went for it. I was a bit sad to see Bruticus seems a little smaller than my other CW Combiners, but he's still pretty awesome.
UW Computron is the only option as far as I'm concerned. The hasbro version is the pinnacle of Hasbro cheaping out on their CW sets. Aside from maybe horrible horrible Victorion anyway. Being sold out everywhere though I had to order from an online toy company Ive never heard of, so i hope that goes well.

Hasbro Computron has Scrounge, though, which is kinda cool. I dunno if he's available separate.

I'd never even heard of Scrounge until I say it tacked onto CW Computron's arm. Sure didn't care for how it looked either honestly.

I think it looks decent enough, and it's probably the only figure of him we're going to get because his altmode was a wheel.

Well spoken, though, I've still got my heart set on the UW Bruticus, mostly coz the legit Blast Off, and not that hasbro cop out one.
As far as Computron goes, I hate to say it, coz I'm usually a STAUNCH generation one child, but I kinda like the Habsro's combined mode head better, and again, waiting for the hasbro Afterburner to hit the shelves so I can make me a dam CW Sideways...

But... The Hasbro CW Computron head is just Superion's head repainted. I can't even begin to respect that along with all the other recolored and barely even retooled things about that set.

Again,rare case where I enjoy "Lucky face plate" on the head over the original. But as ever, If the choice was to buy the COMPLETE set between the two, yeah, the Unite Warriors one is a no brainer. XD

That Vortex is about as perfect as he could possibly get. And Blast Off looks so much better in the dark brown as opposed to the caramel orange colour

I think its a very nice figure, but as far as better than the Hasbro Blast off... I just hate the their overuse of the same figures over and over. Some fans of the Hasbro version like to say its only makes sense that an arm is a jet instead of a shuttle because shuttle's are so much bigger but the scale on all of these vehicles is so insanely jacked up that I can only see that as trying to defend what they bought or eating up just about any crap Hasbro drops.
No getting around it. Hasbro Blast off is a jet because they are cheap asses cutting way too many corners.

The Hasbro version is a repaint of Aerialbot Firefly, the red jet, who was already repainted as Slingshot, the white jet.
I personally don't mind Blast-off as a jet. It makes more sense than a space shuttle in a team of military vehicles.
