An experimental piece/birthday gift/request for , featuring her character Dawnfire.

I've always been envious of artists that can just create backgrounds that give off certain feelings or moods; I really think it's the main factor in controlling the tone of the piece. I've dabbled with painting backgrounds but never really had the resolve to finish them in detail.
This may be because the default brushes frustrate me, never having the right texture I need for a certain subject.
Yesterday I downloaded a few brush packs for photoshop ([link] [link] [link] ), got super excited and, as you may be able to see, used as many of them as I could in this.

So I ended up with this: semi-abstract-semi-realistic, but hopefully full of some kind of emotion or story the viewer can relate to.
