Sitting in the medicine den as Sara tended to their wounds gave Souci a lot of time to think. He spent a lot of time in there anyway due to his hearing, but never because of something like this. They just had not been prepared for that at all.

His right eye still stung from where the bear hit him before Altan had stepped in. It was thanks to her that it didn't hit deep enough to permanent damage! Well, relatively. Souci was no expert on injuries, but most serious wounds scarred - right? Oh dear I hope I didn't get us both scarred because of my hearing.

That was the truth of the situation to the male in the end; they went out to look for dangers and he couldn't hear them until too late. It didn't bother Souci enough to go to any lengths to fix his hearing though. What worried him was the slightly quieter nature of his friend next to him. Was she ok? He could understand feeling a little down after having to run away. Perhaps she needed some cheering up. Taking a mouth-full of herbs, he spat them out dramatically - pulling the silliest face he could manage.

Hopefully Sara would forgive him for messing up the den a little.

Just a reminder that all this happened when they were appretnices (Since they are now gladiators, wow that's a weird thought)
