Description
A/N: I have chapters 20 and 21 but they're still in the process of editing. You should be expecting them soon and I'm sorry for the long wait. What this chapter is about: This was a scrapped idea of how Shego and Kim make up. There is also a surprise appearance of the Wego's girlfriends. This chapter was originally chapters 16 and 17, so that's why it may seem long. Chapter 18 is also a continuation of this, but I'll post that another time.
Binded by Love by Lenka
As I poured iced tea into my glass, I couldn't help but think of my actions last night. I had definitely crossed the line. I knew my boundaries and what was real and what was not, but I still crossed it. I sighed, the ice chinked in my glass and I stopped pouring. Now look where the results had gotten me.
By the time I had gotten home last night, I couldn't bring myself to sleep in the same room as her, knowing that the tension would be great. I knew that she would want to be left alone, and that gave me too much time to be tortured by my actions. But what I didn't understand was the fact that Kimmie had let me kiss her during the balloon fight. Not to mention she even laughed about it! I was so confused by her actions and my deep thinking that my head throbbed.
Did she just act like that for a cover up? Or maybe she...actually liked it? No. If she liked it, then she would have liked how I kissed her last night. She wouldn't have slapped me or ran away. I stared at my drink. Maybe I should have poured some alcohol instead...
No! I shook my head and clenched my fists just as hard as how I was squeezing my eyes. I wasn't going to let myself go and drink my sorrows away over something so stupid. A stupid choice of mine. I let out a breath and unclenched my fists, slowly opening my eyes, glaring at the drink before me.
"What did you do last night?" a voice questioned, and I jumped quick into my fighting stance as an instinct.
When I saw that it was only my dad, I sighed, turning back to my drink to take a sip.
"I went out for a walk," I answered. "Why?"
I couldn't see his face, but I knew what his reaction was. He didn't believe that taking a walk was the truth. Which it was. It was as if he didn't believe it was only a walk. Which it wasn't.
"Your girlfriend did not look too happy when she came back."
I calmly took another sip, closing my eyes to savor the flavor.
"And?"
I could literally feel his gaze burning into my back.
"I'm not the... ideal person to talk to when it comes to relationships, but allow me to offer you some wise advice. Tell your girlfriend what she needs to hear, in other words, tell her the plain truth."
I scoffed, setting my cup down on the counter a little too hard as I turned around to him. "And why would I need your advice? She could have stepped in dog crap for all you know and that could have been the reason why she looked upset!"
"If she did step in 'dog crap', it should have been gone by now and she's still wearing the same shoes as she was last night. Not to mention she still looks upset and is avoiding you." His lips formed a thin line. "You're not acting very relationship material right now, Gabrielle."
"And what about you, huh? You don't seem the same way around mom! Are you even as sick as she told me you were?"
His facade did not change. I hated that about him. He never showed emotion. It made me wonder more and more why and how my mom could have fallen for...this man! It was absolutely ridiculous!
"Do not change the subject," he said. "My health does not relate to the matter at hand. Go talk to her. Trust me, she needs it."
And with that, he walked away.
I scowled at his retrieving back and picked up my cup, and muttered sarcastically into it: "Wise advice."
As much as I hate to admit it, I took my father's advice. I tried to strike up a conversation with Kimmie, but I either found myself stuck without words, or she had managed to avoid me. And she was avoiding me a lot today. I had been trying all day, but still, nothing had worked. I never thought that I would have such trouble over something like this. All I had to say was sorry or something like that, but then again, I knew that she wouldn't forgive me at the snap of a finger.
In the midst of my planning of another way to talk to Kimmie, the doorbell rang. A part of me was happy for the interruption, glad to be away from my obsession of the day, and the other part of me was pissed the hell off for still not coming up with something clever. All I could ever think about was something mischievous that would only get me into deeper sh-
Riiiinngg!
Right, the door. I got up from my seat and went it open the door, immediately regretting that I did.
"What's,"
"Up,"
"Greenie!"
I was quickly caged in four arms of two annoying look-a-likes.
"Get...off!" I rasped, my breath shortening every second.
I was finally released and glared down at twin girls who annoyingly beamed at me. Their teeth shined as if they were polished and their braided brown hair was disgustingly decorated with ribbons that matched their bright pink dresses. My favorite color! BLEGH! It was Ariana and Adriana...the Wegos' girlfriends. Yeah I know, shocking!
"We heard that you were here!" the twin on the right said.
"And that you've got yourself a girlfriend!" the other chimed in.
The twins did the most weirdest thing right then. They winked at the same time, lifted one leg a few inches off the floor, and made a heart with their hands.
"So we came over to spice up your relationship!" they said in the creepy twin in sync thing.
"Fantastic!" my words dripping heavily with sarcasm. "Just what I need! Two look-a-like freaks who love playing matchmaker!"
"We knew you needed us!"
"We're the Angels of Love!"
I snorted and muttered, "More like Angels of Weirdos..."
"What was that?" one twin questioned, raising an eyebrow as she peered closely at me. I scowled at her, stepping back, but her twin did the same.
"I smell lovesickness!" sniffed one twin.
The other did the same and squinted hard at me. "I smell it too! We need to do some serious action ri-"
In one swift move, I gripped them by their foreheads so that they whined, complaining that they were in pain. I growled and squished their stupid little heads together.
"Listen here twintards! I don't need any Angel of Lovey Dovey crap performed on me nor do I need any more problems on my mind! So just leave me the hell alone and get the hell out!"
The whined and cried, trying to pull my hands off of them, but I kept a good hold on them. I had the strongest urge to squish their heads once and for all, ridding the world of two less freaks.
"What are you doing?!" two voices echoed.
I growled and rolled my eyes. Great! More double trouble! The Wegos pulled me apart from the twin girls and held them protectively.
"Don't," glared one Wego.
"Harass," said the other.
"Our girlfriends!" they both said.
I rolled my eyes at their mushy twin love and threw up my hands. "Ugh! Whatever!"
With that I walked away, not believing that my brothers were in love with those...things! I started muttering curses under my breath as I made my way to the kitchen, wanting to get another glass of iced tea. I had the urge to seriously drink at this time of the afternoon, but I had self control. Suddenly I bumped into someone.
It was Kimmie.
I opened my mouth to say something, and she stared at me for a second before breaking eye contact and walking away. This was my chance! I grabbed her hand and tried to find the words that were escaping me.
"Kimmie I-"
And just when I thought I found the words, the 'Angels of Love' and my brothers entered the kitchen. Distracted by their sudden appearance and loud talk, Kimmie pulled her hand away from mine, and slipped away from me, taking my chance with her.
Damn!
One of the twin sisters seemed to be the only one who caught the look on my face before I left the kitchen to avoid being questioned. Why was I out of luck today? What did I ever do to deserve this? Now you must be listing a whole bunch of stuff and reasons why I deserved this. Just because I'm a criminal huh? Look, I'm just someone whose trying to make a living.
I heard Kimmie going up the stairs and I quickly ran to it just as she was in the middle of walking up.
"Kimmie wait!"
She stopped in mid step, but didn't turn around. I sighed and gripped the railing, glaring at the wooden steps before looking back up at her.
"Look...I know you're mad at me for yesterday, but just know that I'm really sorry."
She didn't say anything at first, but then she turned around, crossing her arms. A thin line was on her lips, her eyes burning into mine.
"You think that I can just forgive you like that? You're going to have to try harder than that Shego."
"I said I was sorry! And I don't say that very often!"
"Oh? And you think just because I'm one of those rare people you've said sorry to means that I should feel happy? Well guess what? I'm feeling something, but it's not happy!"
She spun around with her hair flying, and stormed up the stairs. I gritted my teeth and glared at her retreating back. How dare she? I freaking apologized to her and she couldn't at least hear me out?
"What do we have here?"
I spun around, glaring at the twins who were smirking at me. It was bad enough to have one girl looking at me like this, but to have another who looked exactly like her?
"None of your business," I growled, stepping down from the few steps.
"As Angels of Love, it's our duty to help couples!" one of the twins said, grinning from ear to ear like a cheshire cat.
The twins suddenly moved in front of me, blocking the way down. There was something in their eyes that I recognized. Mischievousness. Crap, they had something up their sleeves. I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose and shutting my eyes.
"Just how much of that did you hear?"
"Oh, a little this and that."
I opened my eyes, wincing.
"You obviously need our help!"
"And since we're dating you're brothers, we'll..."
They did that annoying pose again as they chimed together: "Help you for free!"
"You actually charge people for that kind of stuff?"
"Our work is magic!"
"100% Love!"
"So whaddaya say?" winked one of them, her braids swinging a little as she leaned forward.
"Let me think," I said, rubbing my chin and looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully before answering wisely a second later. "No."
I pushed past them and they whined like kicked puppies.
"Come on greenie! You won't be able to get your lady back without us!"
"Don't call me that!" I said, spinning around at them and making them jump back.
"How 'bout..." one twin began, that smirk on their lips again.
"We make a deal."
I crossed my arms, not convinced, daring them to come up with something smart. With the things they came up with, I knew that it wasn't going to be anywhere near smart. I suppose I was only listening for the laugh.
"We'll leave you alone for the rest of the day if you let us help you."
Hmm, they actually came up with something useful smart! But still, I had to think things through. The twins were always up to lovey dovey crap that I've always managed to avoid. I've never actually seen them performing their 'Angel's of Love' missions, but I've heard talk around town before. Maybe they've brushed up their skills... Hell, I could be risking my reputation, but I guess it was worth it as long as I get Kimmie back. Not to mention the bonus of no annoying twins for a while.
"Make it the rest of the week and you got yourself a deal."
The Show by Lenka
"I'm starting regret this..." I muttered.
"You made a deal," the twins said in a sing song voice.
I rolled my eyes and wiped away the water dripping down the sides of my drink to let my hands occupy themselves. We were sitting outside of a cafe since inside it was full, and I envied the people who were indoors with air conditioning while all I had was this iced coffee. One of the twins pulled out a sketchbook and opened it up before me just as I took a sip of my coffee.
"Alright, here's the plan-"
I choked on my coffee and pounded my chest.
"Are you okay?"
"Don't mess up your clothes!"
I couldn't help it, I started busting out laughing. Tears started watering my eyes and my stomach began having cramps. That's how you know when something is really funny.
"What's so funny?" the twin who was holding the book asked.
I just snickered and pointed at her drawings. She looked at them and then back at me, obviously confused.
"What? These are the plans!"
"I know. It's just...the way you draw!" I started laughing again.
If you would have seen the drawings for yourself you would have been dying like me. They were practically stick figures with wavy lines as hair and a sun in the top right corner. Not to mention she drew birds the classic way, in the form of bending V's. She even went through all the trouble to color it!
Her twin looked at the drawing and face palmed. "Ariana," she groaned. "Did you really have to draw it out?"
"What's wrong with my drawings? I'm trying to help out here!" Ariana pouted.
I waved my hand dismissively, a smirk still on my lips. "Whatever, just go on with the...'plan.'"
"It's simple really," Ariana stated, then tapped the book that showed a picture of me.
I could tell because they colored me green... Anyways....
"We told Kim that we wanted to hang out with her to get to know her, but then we won't show up, but you will."
She flipped the page that showed me standing next to Kimmie. I'm guessing those bright red lines coming out of her head were her hair and not some snakes.
"Then you'll take her to Ritten Park where they're hosting a couple's marathon," said Adriana.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" I said. "Couple's marathon?"
They both nodded. They couldn't be serious! Me and Kimmie at a couple's marathon? Did they know how weird that would be?
"You two are dating right?"
I almost said no, but then remembered that we were supposed to be in a relationship.
"Yeah."
"Then there you go!" Adriana said, clapping her hands. "This is the perfect chance for you two to make up because during the couple's marathon you have to stay with each other the whole time!"
"And don't worry," her twin winked. "There are some people like you who attend the marathon."
People like me? At first I thought she meant my skin tone, but then I remembered: Kimmie and I. Both of us were girls. Riiiight. That would have been awkward if we were the only gay couple.
"I thought you guys were only going to make me come up with a clever way to apologize to her!"
"This is the clever way!" they said in unison.
Ariana put one finger up. "One: She won't be able to leave you because that's the rules."
Adriana put two fingers up. "You'll still be able to talk to her while having fun."
"And three," they said, putting up three fingers. "Its a date!"
I raised my eyebrow at them. "Okay, but what if she doesn't want to go with me? What if we have another argument? What if-"
"What if! What if!" Adriana complained, throwing her hands up before slamming them down on the table with a glare. "Stop saying that! Have some confidence, greenie!"
"I thought you weren't someone who wasn't afraid of taking things head on," the other implied.
"I'm not afraid of taking things head on!" I argued.
"Then take this head on!"
She was right. I needed confidence. What happened to me these past few days? I seemed to have lost a bit of my confidence and I needed to get that back.
"You're right," I said, and stood, fixing my shirt. "I'm gonna do this."
The twins had told me that Kimmie would be waiting at another cafe not too far away from Ritten Park. They chose that location so that it wouldn't be hard for me to lure her there. I ran words through my head, planning on what to say and what to do in case she tried to refuse my request of taking her to the marathon. Maybe I should act like I didn't know that there was an event and ask her to check it out. Yeah, that should work.
When I made it to the cafe, I saw her sitting alone with a drink in front of her, her cellphone in her hand. Her eyebrows her furrowed as she read something, and a frown was tugging at her lips. The twins probably told her that they 'couldn't' make it. Right on cue.
I crossed the street and kept my eyes set forward to make things look natural. At the last second as I passed her, we made eye contact and she looked surprised.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, hostility evident in her voice.
I did my best to look offended. "I'm just out on a walk," I said. "And you?"
She huffed and stood. "I was just about to leave."
She began awaking away, heading into the direction of the park. I walked with her.
"Why are you following me?"
"Kimmie, give me a chance," I said, frowning.
She looked at me at the corner of her eye before averting them. She still seemed to be holding her guard up and I knew that I had to break that down. I sighed and tucked my hands away in my pockets. The afternoon sun was beating down at us, making me even more uncomfortable.
There was a flaw in our plan. We didn't come up with what to say or do to apologize Kimmie. I'm someone whose not very big on saying sorry. There are only very rare times when I actually say those two words with sincerity.
"Will you listen to me?"
"For what? Another apology?" she inquired. "I told you Shego, I-"
"ALRIGHTY COUPLES! GATHER UP!" someone shouted into a mega microphone, cutting Kimmie off.
We had made it to Ritten Park. The park itself was huge, located in the middle of the city and one of the most popular places. There were hundreds of people gathered around. From straights to gays, teens to old couples. Everyone knew each other somehow, whether from work or through previous events our city had held. Go City was a party city and it had all brought us together and always has been every year.
Just as planned, the event had called Kimmie's attention. I grabbed her hand by surprise and dragged her into the crowd. She didn't seem to protest, she just asked me what I was doing, but I could hardly hear her over the person speaking into the microphone.
"Welcome to the fifty-eighth Couple's Marathon!"
The crowd cheered, and Kimmie tugged at my hand. I bent down silently so I could hear her talk.
"Why did you drag me here?!"
I just smirked and winked at her, holding her hand tighter. I could feel her glaring at me, but I continued to listen.
"This year, as usual, there will be three challenges, and since there are a lot of you participating this year, the bottom twenty on each round will be disqualified! The only difference every year is that the challenges are different as are the prizes! I must advise you all that there will be physical activities-"
The crowd laughed, and the speaker chuckled. "Not that kind of physical action! You pervs... Anyways, there will be physical action so if anyone who is not athletic or has a body condition such as a weak heart or asthma, then please do not participate! I'm sorry, but we don't want you ending up in the hospital even for the sake of love!"
"Now that we have that out of the way, time for rules! No cheating of course. No interfering other couples or you will face disqualification. You must follow the course and every rule to each challenge. Yada, yada, yada. You all know everything so just go out there and have fun!"
Everyone cheered and started heading for the tents for the first challenge. I made a move towards the tents, but Kimmie stayed put. I looked back at her and she looked back at me.
"What are you doing?" she asked me.
"We're going to do the Couple's Marathon, doy!"
She looked in the direction of the tents and bit her lip. I could tell that she was unsure whether she wanted to participate or not. I expected this to happen.
"Trust me Kimmie, it'll be fun! This only happens once a year and how often are you able to be out like this without having to save the world constantly?"
I gave her hand a little tug of encouragement. She was hesitant at first, but then she walked.
"You and I are going to have a long talk after this."
I chuckled and held her hand tighter. "Sure thing, Princess."
It turns out that the first challenged consisted of the couples dressing up as a bride and groom. I had the groom's clothing and Kimmie had the bride's which she looked quite good in.
"Why did I have to be the bride?" she complained, hiking her dress up a bit so that she wouldn't step on it.
I grinned. "Why not? I think you would make a beautiful wife."
She blushed and huffed, turning her head away so quickly her veil almost smacked me.
The host of the event came up before all of us and smiled. "Alright couples! In this first challenge, the grooms were all given blindfolds. Your bride will be your eyes and will guide you during the race in which you will race from here to the end of the park where you will find chairs awaiting you. This challenge is simply a test of trust. With your blindfolds on, you will carry your bride from here to the other end of the park where you will find chairs awaiting for all of you. Once there, you have to remove the garter of your partner! No hands! Just teeth!"
Cat calls and laughter boomed. My eyebrows shot up and I didn't have to look at Kimmie to tell if she was blushing. Wow, removing Kimmie's garnet with my teeth? Could this day get any...better?
"I freaking hate you..." I heard her mutter.
I grinned widely, enjoying every moment of this. "I love you too."
"Grooms, put on your blindfolds!"
We did as we were told, obstructing my view of the world and leaving me blind. Being blind enhanced my other senses and putting me on high alert for anything. Even though I would be partnered with Kimmie who would act as my eyes, I didn't really need her. Sorta.
"Alright, now carry your brides and ready yourselves!"
I held my arms out for Kimmie and bent down on one knee. I felt her weight in my arms and when she lifted her second leg, I stood straight again. She was really light, which wasn't surprising, but I decided to tease her a bit.
"Geez Kimmie! You might wanna cut down on the deserts!"
"Shut up!" she told me as she hooked her arms around my neck, muttering the whole time.
"Ready? Get set...GO!"
There was a whistle to alert everyone of the start of the race and I immediately set out in a run. Back when I was training to become a hero, I would blindfold myself during my training. I could feel my instincts as both hero and villain kicking in, and knew exactly what to do. But with Kimmie yelling in my ear every second didn't help keep my concentration.
"Watch out for that couple! Go left! Your other left! Shego look out!"
"Oh gee thanks, Kimmie! I definitely didn't see that coming! I'll keep an eye out for that!"
She whacked my head and I snarled at her. "Hey! Watch it Princess or I just might drop you!"
We continued the race while exchanging words of argument and I knew that in would get no where near to convince Kimmie that I was sorry if I continued that way. And so, much to my dismay, I had to shut up if I wanted her to forgive me. Geez...being nice took the fun out of everything!
I had started off with a light jog and it was hard to tell if I was any closer to the end of the park or not. Being blindfolded also made me paranoid of running into trees since I didn't have full trust in my 'bride', but eventually we worked it out. Instead of screaming in my ear every now and then, Kimmie would simply tell me simple directions like: Move to the right three paces in order to avoid another couple, to slow down or speed up. It was a lot better than what the other couples were doing by the sound of it.
Most of the brides were freaking out about little things, causing them to bump into other couples. I could hear thumping footsteps around me despite the cheering of the crowd and laughter, giving me a mental image of the other couples.
"Are we almost there?" I asked.
My arms were starting to ache from holding her too long. Sweat was starting to form, tickling my skin giving me the urge to wipe it away, but I kept my hands for Kimmie.
"Almost!"
With every strength I had, I sped up our little jog. We were close to victory and I could almost taste it. We were going to win this!
"Come on Shego! Beat those other couples!" I heard her cheer.
"With pleasure!"
I pushed on forward in my blind attempt, feeling like I was running in a dark world. I had a mental image of the chair awaiting us, encouraging me to hurry and win.
"We're here!" she told me, and I could practically feel her grinning.
Kimmie told me exactly where to place her, and at first I wasn't sure, feeling that I was going to drop her on the ground instead, but I trusted her instructions and set her on the chair. Now came the next part of the challenge. Removing the garter.
We were told to keep on our blindfolds for this, saving Kimmie half of the embarrassment. And that was only a little half. When I knelt before her and placed my hands on the hem of her dress, I heard her gulp.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Ye-yeah. Don't you dare do anything perverted!"
I imagined an intense blush on her face, turning redder by the second as I lifted her dress for me to place my head under. It was even hotter under the dress, but that wasn't the main thing that I noticed. The first time our skin made contact was when my chin had rubbed just above her knee. She gasped and I heard a creak in the chair. She was gripping it hard. I swallowed hard and let out a sigh, earning a yelp and a surprise kick to the thigh. I pulled out my head fast and glared, but forgot that she couldn't see my eyes.
"Why the hell did you just kick me?!"
"I told you not to do anything perverted!"
I was about to retort, but knew that we were running out of time. So without hesitation this time, I shoved my head back under her dress and began my search for the garter. I used my chin dragged along her thigh to feel for the garter and I could feel her growing tense. I couldn't help but admire how smooth her skin was, but before I could finish admiring it, I felt the garter. I opened my mouth and aimed for where I felt the garter. My bottom teeth and lips had dragged along her thigh, and I felt a tremble run through her body. I held back a laugh and hooked my teeth on the garter, pulling it all the way down her smooth, slender leg until it came off. She gave out a loud sigh of relief as I stood with the garter in my mouth, pulling my blindfold off.
I saw that we had come in second place to a man and his girlfriend who were hugging in front of the crowd, giving each other a light peck on the lips. If only I hadn't hesitated, then maybe we could have won first, but as I looked over to Kimmie who was as red as I thought she was, I realized that hesitating was all worth it.
After we had gotten out of the costumes, the remaining couples gathered around for the next challenge. There were about thirty people left, but that didn't bring down my confidence. I was sure that we were going to win this. With my skills and Kimmie's, we made a pretty good team.
We were standing face to face and they had given us one orange. I had no idea what they wanted us to do. Maybe they wanted us to just eat it and see who can stuff the most oranges in their mouths without making a face, but then again, that wasn't very couple like.
I looked over at Kimmie who still seemed a bit disturbed from the first round. Maybe the plan wasn't going so well. I knew I shouldn't have taken the twin's advice and go along with their stupid plan! They were only making things worse!
The host made his appearance with the mic again. He looked like a model with his tight red shirt and perfect, slicked back hair and shinning grin.
"Congratulations for passing the first challenge and making it to the second round! Now don't worry, no blindfolds will be in this round!"
We gave out a sigh of relief, but we were still on edge, nervous for what they had planned for us this time.
"You were each given one orange in which you and your partner have to race with, holding it between each other's lips. After you make it to the table, you will find a bowl of marshmallows that one of you must stuff into your partner's mouth. You can't use your hands and you can't use your own mouth to stuff the marshmallows in them. Your partner must do all that for you!"
The thought of having all those marshmallows in my mouth made me feel sick. I could never eat a lot of marshmallows. It also reminded me of chubby bunny.
"After you're done with the marshmallows, you must race to the next and final part of the challenge where your partner with the marshmallows in his or her mouth will receive a card with a few sentences. Your partner with the marshmallows in his or her mouth must recite the sentences and you must repeat it."
"Seems simple and easier than the first round," I stated, and Kimmie nodded.
"Listen Shego," she said, staring at her feet. "I-"
"Ready?" the host said.
I held up the orange between us. Whatever it was she wanted to say had to wait unfortunately.
"Set?"
With a sigh, stepped closer to me so that I could place the orange between us by our lips on either side.
"Go!
We began the race. It was awkward running sideways with an orange held by your lips, not to mention we had to keep an even distance between us to keep the orange in place and to avoid stepping on each other. Kimmie had almost tripped over her own feet, but then caught herself. I raised an eyebrow at her, giving her a look. The former cheerleader seemed to have lost her touch a bit.
We finally made it to the table of marshmallows and I quickly set off to picking up marshmallows with my mouth. I managed to get three marshmallows at once and turned to Kimmie who blushed.
"Why do I have to be the one with the- MPFFH!"
I shut her up by forcing the marshmallows into her mouth. We didn't have time to argue and so I hurried to get more. I picked up three more marshmallows and waited impatiently for her to make room for more. Without hesitation, I shoved the next few marshmallows into her mouth. Our eyes were open, and her's were wide with surprise the first time, but the second time she was glaring at me. I was so close to her face that I could see her eyes so clearly like that one night when I had almost kissed her. They were so bright in the setting sun's orange light, making them sparkle like green leaves with dew. Then I felt our lips brush just a little bit. I felt a tingling sensation at the touch, and by her reaction, I could tell that she felt it too.
"That's the last one," I told her after clearing my throat.
She nodded and we quickly set off to the next part of the challenge. On the way there, there was only one other couple racing against us. We made eye contact with them and I felt a surge of competitiveness run through me.
"Come on Princess! Let's win this thing!" I said, grabbing her hand as we ran faster than the other couple.
We made it to the final part of the challenge where a man gave Kimmie an index card. I wasn't allowed to look, so I had to guess what she said.
"I wove vu sho mah," she said through the marshmallows.
I stared at her before bursting out laughing. She placed her hands on her hips and glared at me.
"Sheoh! Ish nah fun he!"
I caught my breath and sighed with a smile. "My bad. I won't do it again."
She gave me one last stern look before holding the card up again and reading it as best as she could.
"I wove vu sho mah,"
"I love you so much," I repeated.
She blushed and read on. "No mah her wha, nothshing can chair ush apar."
"No matter what...nothing can tear us apart."
"I will be yos forhevar."
"I will be yours forever."
The man who gave us the index card rung a bell a second before the other couple did. We came out first for this challenge. I thrusted my fist into the air in victory and Kimmie was trying not to grin because she still had some marshmallows in her mouth. The crowd cheered for us and I when I put my hand back down, our hands brushed. There it was again, that tingling sensation. We looked at each other and it felt like everyone around us just faded away, taking their cheers with them. She looked kinda cute with her cheeks puffed out like a chubby bunny, a blushing one at that.
I felt her shyly touch my hand lightly, and with a smile, I held her hand. Her eyes shined brighter as we tightened our hold, rising our interlaced hands into the air, smiles on our lips.

Hehe I wish KiGo was real and they actually did this! I think we would all die from nosebleeds and break our vocal cords from squealing too much! XDD
