Description ~Grand Entrance~

Gazing out the window of the car, Rip watched the trees zoom pass by, bringing her closer to the school they were taking her. 'They' as in the government who had taken her from the orphanage not too long ago to enter a school she had never heard of before. They didn't tell her why they were taking her there, matter of fact, they didn't speak to her at all. They only spoke to the Head of the orphanage when they picked her up, and they occasionally spoke into their earpiece. She had of course, tried to speak to them, but their answers were always short and repeated. "You will get your answers at the school." Or, "We are not permitted to tell you."

She didn't understand why she needed this kind of escort. It was just a school after all. What could be so important about her or the school that involved two agents from the government to escort her?

Down the road, Rip could see a large building sitting on top of a hill behind the safety of large gates. She guessed that it was the school. It looked quite mysterious yet interesting since it was in such a place like this. There were no other buildings for about a mile, and everywhere was just covered in trees. It even looked like that they had to drive through the woods.

And just when she had that train of thought, they did drive through the woods, following a narrow dirt path with the trees looming over them. The day seemed darker under the shade of the trees and the full moon. It was creepy and kind of freaked Rip out. She didn't like the eerie feeling she had as they drove slowly in the woods. It was as if she was being watched.

Suddenly, the car jolted and the sound of a flat tire rolled, crunching the fallen leaves. "Damn..." muttered the driver.

He stopped the car, and got out to inspect the flat tire. His partner exited the car also, but before he left, he told Rip to stay put.

Rip felt the hairs on her neck rise. She shivered at the feeling and her eyes darted nervously around. She kept telling herself that she was just scaring herself, and that they'll be back on the road in no time. The school wasn't that far anyways.

Something moved at the corner of her eye, just behind a tree. Rip's eyes widened, and her senses heightened. She swore she had just seen something...

There! She just saw something gray move in the shadows of the woods. But what was it? Was there someone there? Or was the light just tricking her? Then, proof revealed itself when the figure walked out in plain view.

Much to her shock, the figure didn't look like a person. It wore a long gray torn robe, and glided just an inch off the ground, creating an icy path along the way. What was even more disturbing was the fact that...whatever it was, had no face. Its mouth was stitched closed, and it had no eyes, just empty sockets.

Rip banged on the window where the two agents were crouched down, inspecting the flat tire. "Zhere's somezhing over zhere!" Rip shouted.

One of the agents snapped his head up at her, glaring. "Stop banging on the window! You'll pay for that if it breaks!"

"Listen you idiot!" the raven haired German said, "Zhere ist somezhing heading our vay!" she pointed in the direction of where the ghostly monster was gliding, but was shocked to see that there was nothing there.

"What the hell are you talking about?" the man asked, looking at her like she was crazy. "I don't see anything!"

Rip stared in disbelief at the empty woods. She swore she saw it! When she turned her attention back to the two agents, she felt her throat constrict. It was right there, behind the two agents.

Rip screamed, scooting as far as she could away from the sight. Her scream had caught the attention of the two agents, and they turned around to see what she was looking at. The man who was talking to her earlier turned back around to her, his face pale, but he was looking strong.

"Get out of the car and run!"

Suddenly his eyes widened and blood splattered all over the window, blocking Rip's view of what was happening behind the screams. The German girl opened the door, and fell out. She scrambled to her feet, and bolted in a run when the smell of blood had reached her nose. She didn't dare to look back, knowing the sight would sicken her, and trigger something in her.

Rip ran on, following the dirt path. She risked a glance behind her, and saw nothing following her. But she didn't stop. After watching too many scary movies, she had a feeling that if she stopped running even for a second, she would die.

Suddenly up ahead, Rip saw the faceless monster down the road. She skidded to a stop, frightened. She looked back, and saw another, both of them now closing in on her. Panicking, Rip knew that if she went directly in the woods without following the path, she would most likely get lost. But it was getting lost versus dying.

She chose getting lost.

However, before she could even bolt in one of the directions that led into the woods without the path, more of the monsters started emerging from behind the trees. She turned in the other direction, but also found that there were more monsters showing themselves there too.

She was trapped. She was a goner. This was it. This was her death.

Trembling with fear, Rip stood her ground. She wouldn't die without a fight. No matter how scared she was, she wasn't going to give up like a coward. She wanted to fight.

"Zhat's zhe spirit little Rippy! Don't be such a baby and fight!" a voice inside her said, and Rip felt her lips tug upwards into a grin as a shadow loomed over her features.

One of the monsters had zoomed up to her, and Rip threw a punch at it, but her fist went right through it like it was nothing but air. All it did was swirl like it was smoke before returning to its original form.

Her feet felt numb, and she looked down. Her feet were frozen to the spot, and ice was gradually rising up her legs. The monster raised its bony hand and covered Rip's face with it. At that moment, Rip was frozen to the spot, not only by the ice, but as if she were in a trance. She was aware of what was going on, but she couldn't move, she couldn't do anything. She grew nauseous and weak, and she couldn't remember how to breathe. The German knew she had to do something, but she couldn't even remember how to lift her arm up!

The ghostly monster starting tearing open its stitches, and revealed a set of the sharpest teeth Rip had ever seen. It opened its mouth wide, and moved closer to Rip, ready to take a bite at her. She felt her eyes close due to the weakness of being unable to hold them open, and all Rip could do was hope for someone to help her, and someone did.

An ear splitting screech came from the faceless ghost, and Rip found the strength to open her eyes, seeing a bird that was brighter than the sun, attacking the ghost. Rip couldn't even look at the bird directly. She had to squint her eyes and shield them with her arm as she took this chance to run.

Wave after wave of sickness passed through her as though the ghost was still holding onto her, but she kept on running. Unfortunately there was one ghost tailing her. It was zooming in the trees, its head turned towards her and it stretched its bony hand out before zooming at her. It swept her off her feet and flew straight up in the air. Rip screamed, the height too much for her and then she felt the monster wrap its long fingers around her throat and Rip stared back at it.

Eyeless sockets stared back. A shiver ran down her spine, and then the ghostly monster reached up to its mouth and starting tearing apart the stitches on its mouth. Smoke drifted out of its mouth as it revealed its yellow razor sharp teeth, ready to bite Rip.

There was a burning sensation in Rip's back, and when she looked back, her face started to burn. The sun was rising. Gritting her teeth in pain, Rip turned back to the ghostly monster, and much to her surprise, it was also burning. The sun was its weakness!

With what was left of her strength, Rip leaned to one side, and let the sun shine on the monster too. The sun's rays started burning its face, its skin melting away as it let out a ear splitting screech.

Suddenly, the monster had let go of Rip, dropping her. She twirled and spun in the sky, the sun burning through her clothes and meeting her exposed skin. She felt weaker and weaker, dizzier and sicker. She saw the building coming closer to meet her and people below who were looking up at her.

Rip didn't know if she was just imagining things, or did one of the people just transform into something big and green? The green blur started flying upwards to meet Rip, and as it got closer, Rip saw that it was a dragon.

"My gott...I'm going crazy..." she thought before she passed out.
