After a few days of memorizing all the teachers' names and every floor of the huge school, Rip noticed that there were students finally arriving. She guessed today was the day when the start of the school year was about to begin. The halls became crowded and loud with laughter and chattering kids ranging from all ages. Even though she knew what this school taught, she was still amazed to see students show off their powers. Of course, this earned fair warnings of detentions from Professor Hellsing if she ever saw them do it again. Tired of bumping into people in the halls, Rip decided to return to her dorm. She found that there was only one other girl in there who was unpacking her suitcase. The girl turned around at the sound of the door closing, her bushy brown hair flying all over the place.

"Oh hi!" the girl said in a British accent. She walked towards Rip with her hand outstretched and a smile on her lips.

"Hi," Rip replied, shaking her hand.

"I'm Hermione," Hermione said, shaking their hands firmly. "Hermione Granger, sixth year and Witch."

"Oh, nice to meet you Hermione. I'm Rip Van Winkle," Rip said when they stopped shaking hands.

Hermione's eyes widened. "Rip Van Winkle?" she echoed, shocked.

"Yeah. Why?"

"The Rip Van Winkle?"

"Mione, don't explode that big brain of yours," a new voice said upon entering.

The two girls turned their attention to a flaming red haired girl, placing her suitcase on her bed.

"Sorry," Hermione said, smiling shyly. "Its just..."

"Just what?" Rip asked.

"Well, you're Rip Van Winkle!" the brown haired girl exlcaimed.

"I know that," Rip said with an eyebrow raised. She didn't think that there was anything special about being Rip Van Winkle. All her life was just horrible having to spend it at an orphanage and being bullied and feared of because of what she was.

Hermione's jaw dropped. "You...you don't know?"

"Know what?!" Rip asked, growing impatient. She looked at the red haired girl who shrugged. Hermione looked between them both in disbelief.

"Am I the only one who listens to Professor Binns?"

"Who can when that ghost talks on and on about boring history in a monotone?"

Hermione's eyebrows furrowed in thought, pacing. "Then again, he only mentioned the war against the gods with Darz who was killed by a man with the name Alastor Van Winkle. It could be the wrong Winkle..."

"You knew my parents?" Rip asked, eager to get more information.

She never knew about her parents. No one in the orphanage was able to tell her. Truth be told, she didn't even know her parents' names, but this Alastor Van Winkle, he could actually be her father.

"Well, no not exactly. I only read about them. I had to dig deep to get information that could get me in trouble, mind you."

"How deep?" the red head asked.

"Government of the Mythically Powered deep," Hermione said with a proud smile.

"Are you mental Hermione?! You know how much trouble you can get into?"

"Relax Ginny! You didn't think I covered up my tracks?" she said, waving a stick she pulled out of her pocket.

Ginny shook her head with a smile. "Hermione Jean Granger, you are mental."

"Can you please tell me who my parents were?" Rip begged.

This was her chance to know about her parents, who they were, and why they abandoned her. After years of waiting, she was finally going to get her answers. But before Hermione could open her mouth to tell her, a knock at the door interrupted.

Ginny opened the door, confused. If it was a girl, then she should have just walked in without knocking. "Guys, you know you can just walk in unlike the bo- Professor McGonagall?"

Rip recognized her when she first met her in the hospital wing. She was the same woman with the pointy hat.

"Ms. Weasley, good evening," she peered inside, seeing Rip and Hermione. "Ms. Granger, the Headmistress wishes to see you. It is..." her eyes trailed to Rip before turning back to Hermione, "of importance."

Hermione gave a glance at Rip and Ginny. "I'll see you guys later," she said, and followed the Professor out.

Rip felt her heart drop. Now she would have to wait again until her questions were to be answered.

LIEbe

Rip understood what Ginny meant about Professor Binns. The ghost would go on in a boring tone about history that it almost put her to sleep. It was even worse that it was their first course on a Monday morning. She tried her best to listen after hearing what Hermione learned from him to get to her parents, but her brain didn't process a single word. It was just that boring! After what seemed like an eternity, the bell finally rung, and everyone sprang up from their seats, ready to get the day over with and get out of History class.

"I told you it was boring," Ginny yawned as they walked down the hall.

"Mondays suck...and this is my first day here!"

"Preach it girl," Ginny smirked.

"Oh come on guys, it couldn't have been that bad," Hermione said. They both just looked at her with raised eyebrows. "Okay...it was a tiny bit dull..."

"Tiny bit?" Ginny repeated in disbelief. "The whole bloody thing was dull!"

Hermione rolled her eyes. "What do we have next?"

"Humanology," Ginny answered.

Hermione pulled out her schedule and checked her's. "Hang on, I almost forgot that I'm taking extra classes this year too. I have Career Class."

"What's Career Class?" Rip asked.

"Its a class for seventh and eighth years to prepare them for the jobs they want to take when they leave the school," Hermione answered proudly.

"But you're a sixth year!" the raven haired vampire pointed out. She looked at Ginny for answers but she only shrugged.

"Don't ask me! I'm not taking Career Classes!"

"Well, that's because Professor McGonagall got me into Career class. Mind you, it was not easy to get me in as a sixth year and the work in Classified Class isn't easy either!"

Ginny gaped. "You're in the Classified Class?!"

Rip just looked between the two girls, obviously confused. She had no clue what they were talking about. Maybe if she had came to Olympus Academy as a first year then she would have understand.

"Yes," Hermione said, holding here chin up.

"Is that how you found out about Rip's parents?"

"That and from listening to Professor Binns."

Rip couldn't believe she had almost forgotten about asking Hermione about her parents. "Can you tell me about my parents?" Rip asked, actually pleading. She was desperate to know who they were and why they had abandoned her.

Hermione frowned as she adjusted her hold on her books. "I'm sorry Rip, but I can't. I'm forbidden to tell you..."

"What? Why?" Rip asked shocked as they came to a stop where the hallway led two ways.

The witch sadly frowned at Rip. "I really, really want to tell you..."

"Then tell me!" Rip exclaimed, causing some passing students to glance at her.

"I can't. I made an agreement with the Headmistress not to tell you."

The bell rung and the students started hurrying to their classes. "I'm sorry Rip, but it's for your safety," with that, Hermione walked off in one direction of the hallway, disappearing around the corner. Rip only stood there staring, her mouth opened, her questions still unanswered. Ginny tugged her arm.

"Come on mate," she said softly, "We don't want to miss class. Especially since Professor Hellsing is teaching."
