Description
EnglishI think my message is pretty clear.
I don't want the old style removed, at least as long as Eclipse doesn't have all the old-style functionality and is in development.
I am not against the development of Eclipse, but today it is not even half functional when compared to the old style.
I am hopeful that in the future Eclipse can become as functional as the old style is and so I can hope that we will have a product as consistent as the old style is.
Please deviantART, don't remove the old style yet.

oh god that old logo, people were up in arms about that back in the day too. back in the day as in like 3 years ago.
I just want to keep both like we've had for an entire year. why would a want a choice taken away?

i agree i love old dA I love this site in general soo so much.. But i hear its a technical problem with java and stuff. so maybe they dont really have a choice or something idk.
Honestly i doubt they care what we prefer. They made up their mind already.

By reading old Dahub journals I learned that the main problem is that deviantart rely on very old coding which has become a mess overtime, developer kept adding stuff and features to the point that now it's just impossible to work with, so I assume they took the easy route and decided to redo everything from the ground up. The issue I have with this new design is that it cannot be called a finished product, the groups layout is still the older one and the endless scrolling page is just a bad feature, they got rid ot the llama trading entirely and the feedback page is a disaster, there's no way to select and remove more than a feedback at once... I luckly get a lot of feedback on dA but browsing trough 1000 notification is impossible on Eclipse

yeah..there are a few other things im not eager about either at all.
Im not eager about the idea that the commission page is now combined eith the prints page. I prefered my commissions to be visible from the first page.
I also dont understand why the about page is separated from the home page cuz my bio is in both of them...what is the point of repeating the same thing twice.....
also in my donation poll the amnount is now 0....all the donations dissapeared.
also....why cant i move the deviations in my gallery freely like in the old site...noe they only move one by one left or right...if i want to mive something 4 pages it takes forever...

1) I'll try that the next time it will switch to eclipse
2) not what I meant, if I go to the llama trading page it displays an error message
3) I can drag and select multiple feedback message at the same time now, if I were to select one by one it would take forever. I can select them all at once but it's useless, I just want to select some without sitting there the whole day

No, because I'm already in the advanced mode, they simply got rid of a basic feature apparently
Let's say I'm going to thank people for faving one deviation, I browse trough the stack and I notice a row of people I already know, as of now I can simply drag my cursor and select them all at once, then click remove. With just two click I deleted 10 notifications, like here:
.
Now in the eclipse layout I have to instead click 10 times + a eleventh time for the remove. I tried everything, dragging the mouse, holding shift or alt, nothing seems to be working, combined with the infinite scrolling page it's easy to lose track of where I was supposed to be. Plus, in the older version if I hold CTRL and click on someone's username, it both open said person's profile page in a new page AND select its notification. On Eclipse it just open a new tab, so I have to go back, remember the username and select that feedback.
I know this sounds very picky, but in this moment I have over a thousand of notifications. There's no way I'm going to click 1000 times, this is one of the best way to first show what you really care and second drive some traffic to your page. Combined with the fact that people are already leaving deviantart for this whole upgrade it means I'll probabily be forgotten pretty quick if I'll stay here

Yeah I mean, the original layout is really old and a fresh new coat of paint could help (I kind of like the new profile pages) and I don't understand the people being overly dramatic to just a new layout, but the missing features are a big concern and it still unclear to what is going to happen to the groups, which are the main way to get noticed on this site
I'm trying to launch my Patreon page and this is the only social I'm good at, if people leave I won't be able to reach any audience
With this said, have a nice day!

Well it’s not just a new design of a website my friend, Core Members are getting ripped off because Eclipse takes away their right to customize and gives out other core features to normal members. It’s kind of a scam if i’m being honest.

I've been switching back and forth with Eclipse and the original. To be honest (this is my opinion), it's not that big of a deal. I've managed to find almost about everything I can think of in Eclipse just as it was in the original (like stash). You just got to see where everything is at.
Yes, I will agree, I'm not used to it and I still dislike it. It doesn't have the creativity of the original. But if worse comes to worse, the DA staff will probably not hear are pleads and continue with this change just like certain sites. So, I guess we'll have to see

Youtube inspired too. What I noticed from this Eclipse is that it outright kills smaller creators as the only works you'd find are either curated or popular.
There is no newest tab.

Oh geez, thats pretty despicable. Only way to get seen on this site as is, is the 13 seconds on splash time on newest and llama spamming.
Why would they even do this? I'm assuming as a way to appeal more marketable?

Pretty much. Its funny because in banning human reproduction for fear of being labeled pornography, it encouraged alot of fetishistic art to compensate for that. Which ironically put DA on the map. This is their way to help sweep it under the rug.

Signing as many petitions on change.org as can to try and stop DA from forcing us to join eclipse. Right now, this link has the most signatures and comments with 16.5 thousand signatures in the last week. www.change.org/p/deviantart-te…
Hopefully this petition will reach them and they will listen or over 90% of their current users will most likely leave. I've been on DA for nearly a decade, ever since I could join, and I love seeing how my own art as well as artists I follow have grown. In that time, the only big changes DA has done was changing it so you had to keep scrolling down to load more art instead of using pages, and even that change still upsets a lot of people. Changing DA to a completely different site that takes away everything us users have known about DA and forcing us to use it is wrong. DA recently had it's 19th birthday. I have been a member for half that time and know both newer and older users of the site. Even though we all have been DA members for different lengths of time, one thing we all share is knowing that DA Eclipse sucks, that no one wants to use it, that no one has a clue how to use it since it is a mess, and that no one will use it as on May 20th when they force us to use it their will be a mass exodus from DA as we all switch to a new art site. If DA wants to keep its members, both old and new, it needs to make Eclipse optional, work out its bugs for anyone willing to try it, and keep the old site.

I agree. I mean, I feel bad I don't want them to change it, because I guess they're trying to make something nicer and cooler? I've tried Eclipse a couple times though and it's just so confusing. I don't like it at all. Sometimes my site accidentally changes to Eclipse and it makes me so mad. I freak out when it happens, and I worry I can't change it back. I hope it doesn't change much, or they let us switch back just like we can now.

They are not going to listen to us furries, DeviantArt staff excludes us from contests. We need a popular artist on our side, one that isn't a furry. One that has the true recognition of DeviantArt staff.
It's a popularity contest everywhere you look, and you need that popularity to make beneficial changes needed in the Internet.
