This is my favorite design of aΒ Star Trek TNG/DS9 ship.

Looks like a few textures have dropped off. - MattC

I thought that too. I rendered it three times and came up with the same mission module...bare. I'll need to take a good look at it when I update it with the new background. Thanks Matt.

Excellent work. Why did you choose the USS Phoenix's circular mission module, instead of the triangular one seen on most Nebula class ships?

Cos I'd already done the other module here:>>>>Β :thumb409675906:

However, I may well be redoing the older orthos again just to lighten them up a bit

Was this toe one seen in Generations?

I don't believe so. The Sutherland appeared in a TNG episode (Redemption?) and also a couple of DS9 episodes. If I recall the novelization of Generations, I think it was the Farragut that turned up to rescue the crew of the Enterprise-D.Β

It was (and it had the 'standard' Nebula module, rather than the radome-like 'AWACS' pod seen here; makes me think the Sutherland served an Electronic Warfare/Electronic CounterMeasures/ELectronic INTelligence (EW/ECM/ELINT) role in Starfleet.

Can you imagine the firepower the Nebula could have if they adapted a battle pod for the pod?

They do have a (not filmed yet) battle pod.

Why didn't you use the more triangular sensor pod?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Tzoli In reply to Namalucibai [2014-03-24 20:03:44 +0000 UTC]

The regular triangular pod is not a sensor pod but a weapons pod with 8-10 forward facing photon torpedo tubes!

Archanubis In reply to Tzoli [2014-03-24 21:32:24 +0000 UTC]

Why can't it be both? After all, it's not as small as the Akira's pod.

Tzoli In reply to Archanubis [2014-03-24 21:40:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but the launchers need their associated equipment and also Nebula was older then the Akira And not to mention you can store a hellova lot of torpedoes there so like bombard everything in it's front
