Thanks! I made it using a fractal generating program. It's called Sterling, and it uses complex math formulas to create shapes that repeat themselves within themselves.

You know how, in normal trees, there are usually like three large branches that stem out from the trunk? And then, on each of those branches, it separates into three smaller branches? That's similar to the idea of "fractals". You see the same patterns, in different sizes, all around the picture, just like how a small branch has the same shape as the entire tree.

A more basic fractal is this one: [link] , because it has a shape that is found in various places around the picture, in different sizes. And if you look close at the shapes in my picture, there are different sizes of the same spikes and stuff all around it.

As for the color- once my fractal program generated this pattern, I took it to Photoshop. I basically used this tutorial on it: [link] . I just made sure I had fire colors. ^.^ And played around with that last tutorial step a lot. Let me know if you're interested in downloading a fractal program (plenty are free) and giving fractal art a shot!

Very interesting. I'm saving that link for later! And thanks for the tips!
