Here's a blast from the past, discovered as I am cleaning my studio out and e-baying old and unfinished work. This is actually my very first acrylic on canvas (and quite possibly my first acrylic ever--it was eight or nine years ago, and memory is failing.) It's a primitive unicorn, based on a chevrotain, or "mouse deer" which I drew at the Minnesota Zoo.It's on e-bay with a $1 starting bid, because nostalgia's all well and good, but I need my studio space back!

This is really impressive. I like how it steers away fro the usual fancy white horses type unicorns and it sort-of embraces how unicorns were portrayed on old tapestries and stuff. But what I like the most is the different colours on the unicorn and the background. Really lovely!

I love it! I was so sick of those prancing white horse things with sparkly horns on their heads and pretty girls in pink dresses riding on their backs. I love the patches of white and black fur on it's chest, so lovely. I love it!

Ah. I'm finding a good few interesting Unicorns tonight. This one has intrigued me the most so far. Great job! Especially for your first time on acryllics. O.o;; Wish I had that talent. XD

I knew the picture looked fimiliar somehow. I go to th MN zoo every summer. These little guys are so cute! But I have to say my favorite thing there is the pigmy and slow loris.

On the discovery Channel today, watching Planet Earth, the showed a type of deer native to Chile and Argentina, that resemble this exactly, including the horn.
So this is pretty sweet.

chevrotains are frickin FREAKY! Little teeths!
And whenever I try to get photos of them.... all I get is a black image with glowing yellow yes.

Bony wee thing, isn't it? Reminds me alot of eohippus, but I suppose they and mouse deer were probably around the same size.
The background colours feel like a science museum, or a very serious lab. I could not tell you why, but they do.

Yup, I sell art on e-bay frequently.
Basically the way to make money, so far as I've found, is to just use e-bay as the method, rather than the advertising. I really do all the selling--advertising, whatnot--through my blog, I don't expect anybody to FIND me on e-bay (that way lies non-sales.)

Very beautiful. ^^ The shading is excellent and makes it look very real. The unicorn kinda looks like a Kirin (I prolly spelled that wrong), which is the Asian version of a unicorn.

if you've ever seen jacob sheep, sometimes they only have one horn, so they look pretty stupid, but kinda like offputting unicorns...this is wonderful

How cool is that!! We have a couple of those at the San Diego zoo, they're such tiny little things. So I can easily imagine this guy!

I saw one of them at the zoo in Omaha. I thought maybe it was my digital camera playing tricks on me when I saw the fangs, but no, they actually have fangs.

That was your FIRST? That is one of the best paintings I have ever seen from you. Anyone who can paint that at 20 years old has the potential to be more than just a great DeviantART/eBay seller. You could have your own art shows OR HAVE YOU?
