Description
Saint Azul is one of the patron saints of gardeners, who seem to require a lot of divine intervention as a group, since when you garden, you pretty much shove something in the ground, make it a little offering of water and fertilizer, and pray for a miracle.Azul is specifically the patron of bulbs, and is invoked by those who are trying to remember where exactly they planted those tulips, whether they're supposed to take the irises up in fall or not, and whether or not they accidentally put the daffodils in upside-down. Medals of St. Azul buried in beds are believed to protect against incursions by moles and field mice.

I love the textural element that you brought along the edges of the picture ^_^ It's a defining characteristic of your art, as I've seen it in several of your works, and is subtle yet fascinating. It has whimsical yet earthy properties to it and it looks..."real" as in something that I would see in the world but it's difficult to spot.
Would you play around with stained glass as a medium? You'd be so good at it and make it look so different!

Ah, bluejays. They may eat other birds' babies, but they are pretty, pretty baby-eaters.
Great picture.

Hello, My name is Mr. Blue Jay, and I am legally obliged to tell you that I'm a cannibal offender. Well, it was nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Cardinal. Hope you enjoy raising a family in the Suburbs.

Somehow picturing a Jay as a saint is funny. But having had a step-mother who DID plant daffodil bulbs upside down one year. Thing is, they still bloomed!

lo, the detail on the coloring work turned out great on this, even though it has paper texture, it works very well with the piece. It's got good construction.
Keep at it

That's great, because my dad (a gardener) is always cursing the bluejays out. XD They either ransack his birdfeeder or get into the pecan trees.
