Description
Kinda wanted to do a communist revolutionary propaganda desktop theme! So, we have a the cute proletariat steel worker girl as the poster child for my revolution! Ha ha... yeah... I wanted to keep the colors and shading really simple... to get that powerful illustrative feel to it. I also used a super thick black outline to make the figure and text pop out more. Any way, this pic was more for kicks than a serious attempt at art... still, hope you guys got a kick out of it!!Oh, if you want higher res versions for your desktop, just send me a note!!
Done with Photoshop CS and a WACOM tablet over several hours... instead of studying! LOL!

HAhaa, USSR...The most epic thing on the world! I think. Well, here my opinion goes. Idea is good, BUT whole picture remindes me america, nut Russia. Her smile is too happy. Russians usualy use to care the hell out of people . I have never seen that Russians had such kind of elegant uniforms. especialy the gloves. Closed and only thumb seperated glows are more conected to Russia. And she looks little bit weak for Hummering. Other wise, It is good.

This is due to the culture I know of where someone only smiles around their friends - someone who smiles all the time is untrustworthy.

Yeah... I always wonder what would be the popularity of the western goverments if they had similar kind of propaganda (Obviously suited with the "Capitalism" and "Democracy" message).

Woo! Commie Propoganda!
I was actually in that part of the world all of a week ago. The countries that used to be behind the "Iron Curtain" are far more interesting than their western counter parts. That and Prague is like the club and trance capital of the world
I think I now have a new desktop

Dude that's awsome. Aw yes memories from 8 am studio. Of course you couldn't hold back for the simple paper cut shading of those posters, you shade detailed wrinkles in her suit silly dave.

Yes, goggles make everything better don't they? Yeah, the font was a free one I downloaded from a web site, I too thought it was really neat... I liked it for this pic cause it kinda looks russian or something.

You know, that quote actually originated from Hermann Goring, Hitler's second-in-command? He said, "If The Fuhrer commands it, two and two are five!" And then I guess George Orwell adapted it for the book.

Pinko! lol, j/k. Love the goggles. She looks very spunky and enthusiastic, ne? Too bad I can't be like that, 8am class tryin' to kill me (but then you know what that's like all too well). The arm holding the hammer looks a tad thin, and some of the wrinkles in the clothing makes the outfit seem a pretty tight fit, but otherwise me gusta mucho. The basic shading, thick lines, and simplicity work well for this kinda piece.

Usagisama In reply to GinKitsune [2005-01-05 07:18:08 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, enthusiasm at 8AM is physically impossible!! I have an 8AM class every day this term... argh!!
Yeah, I tried to draw the hammer arm smaller to make it seem further away, but then I didn't foreshorten it properly... so thats why it looks funny Of course, I only notice these things after I have started coloring... and at that point I'm not willing to fix it! LOL!!
Best of luck with your 8AM class... hope you survive it better than I am!!

I'm sorry, that must suck so much. You look pretty worn out later in the day too . So far my 8am class is alright. Ick, I hate it when that happens. Think you get something just right with forshortening and it ends up horrid after it's inked and colored.
